    ABRIL 1935 - ABRIL 2010 75 AÑOS DE UNA HISTORIA DE COMPROMISO En 75 años de historia hay lógicamente momentos para todo: para grandes alegrías y algún que otro sinsabor. Y de todo hemos vivido al lado de la Selección en los tres cuartos de siglo que ha recorrido ya desde su primer partido oficial, el 15 de abril de 1935. Pero lo que nunca ha faltado, ni en las victorias ni en las derrotas, ni en los mejores ni en los peores momentos, ha sido el compromiso de todos quienes han escrito y escriben esta historia. Una historia que arranca con una victoria y una medalla está indudable- mente destinada a ser una gran historia. Y la de nuestra Selección lo es, tanto por los grandes hitos que han ido jalonando su camino como por este presente exitoso que la ha colocado en un punto de referencia del baloncesto mundial. Desde la medalla de plata de Ginebra 1935 hasta el poker de éxitos de los cuatro últimos años, el baloncesto español, con la Selección absoluta como su máximo representante, ha sido protagonista directo del baloncesto mundial. Y seguro que lo seguirá siendo. Estamos orgullosos de estos 75 años y más que satisfechos con los gran- des e históricos éxitos cosechados en los últimos campeonatos. Pero tam- bién nos ilusiona el futuro que tenemos por delante. Porque nuestra Selección absoluta, esa a la que ahora da lustre la extraordinaria genera- ción bautizada como la ÑBA, no es un equipo aislado sino el cénit de una estructura deportiva que sostienen todas nuestras selecciones de forma- ción, a las que verano sí verano también vemos subidas a los podios inter- nacionales.

Overview of the study In March 2007, the European Parliament invited the European Commission to assist football bodies and organisations in improving the regulations governing sports agents 1. In July 2007, the European Commission indicated in its White Paper on Sport 2 that it would “ carry out an impact assessment to provide a clear overview of the activities of players’ agents in the EU and an evaluation of whether action at EU level is necessary, which will also analyse the different possible options ”. The European Commission’s terms of reference for this study confirm that the European Commission “ wants to have an analysis of the situation regarding sports agents in all the sports they deal with”. The aim of the study is therefore to examine the situation of sports agents in the European Union and to identify, analyse and describe the questions that their activities give rise to as well as the solutions that have already been provided by public and/or private actors, thus enabling the European Commission to assess – on the basis of the data collected, the problems identified and the analyses carried out – whether intervention is required and, if so, at what level and in what form. The study develops, for the first time, a European outlook on the issue of sports agents.

Sports. Ettore Messina, the Italian-born coach of CSKA Moscow, is among the top candidates to replace coach Larry Drew. Ferry and Messina have had contact about the possibility, and Messina is intrigued with the chance to be a global trail blazer in the NBA, sources told Y! Sports. Ferry recently scouted CSKA Moscow in London at the Euroleague Final Four. Atlanta's top target, Stan Van Gundy, is a long shot to accept the job, league sources said. Messina, 53, is a four-time Euroleague championship coach and two-time Euroleague coach of the year. Across two decades of head coaching jobs in Italy and Russia, Messina has won five Russian League championships and four Italian League titles. Messina spent the 2011-'12 season as a part of Mike Brown's coaching staff with the Los Angeles Lakers. With uncertainty over Brown's future, Messina left the NBA to take a $1 million-plus a year job with CSKA Moscow. Messina brought Lakers assistant Quin Snyder to CSKA with him as an assistant coach.
