We have for some time been aware that many of us have had a rather sideways view of the proceedings, while all present have been seated ‘cheek by jowl’ on too many occasions. I hope that NEDIAS will be as well supported in its new venue and the different environment will gain acceptance by our members and our visitors alike. The offer from ROMAC to use their canteen room at Rowland Hill House on Boythorpe Road, with its secure and ample car parking facilities is very generous and no doubt reflects the current standing of NEDIAS as a significant contributor to the local community’s activities. Having said that, a recent item in the Industrial Archaeology News highlights the need for expansion of our external activities. The item criticised business managers and other parties interested in the affairs of industry and commerce for failing to safeguard company archives upon closure of businesses. Regrettably, the example quoted was the Chesterfield based Dema International where, it was claimed, an archaeological site survey had found company archives in an unprotected state.

ANNUAL REPORT SEASON 2007-2008 PRESENTATION NIGHT 7.30pm Friday 4th April 2008 at Pennant Hills Bowling Club Normanhurst-Warrawee Cricket Club formerly known as Normanhurst Cricket Club Established in 1926 (Foundation Club in HK&HDCA) A DIVISION OF NORMANHURST SPORTS CLUB www.normosports.com PRESIDENT’S REPORT Well. What a season - centuries, hat-tricks, personal bests and some great team results. You always know it’s a fun year when it finishes before you know it or want it to! A big thankyou to the Committee for a fantastic job they have done. John Corish and Sue Haertsch have done a magnificent job organising juniors, ensuring that it ran smoothly and efficiently. Chris Hawkins did a wonderful job in his first year as our equipment officer and I am sure he enjoyed purchasing our new bowling machine! Mr Pietsch has done a stellar job organising our accounts for the last 2 years, however a newborn and knee surgery will see it as his last year in the position. Our club is lucky enough to own a bowling machine. Through governments grants we were able to purchase this so that it can be of benefit to all of our players and coaches. I would like to congratulate all our coaches and managers for the way they have conducted themselves and I am sure that all teams thank them for their energy, time and commitment that they have put in. On a personal note, 2007-2008 will be my last year as President. After two fun years, and seven on the Committee, it is time for me to move on to achieve some personal goals.

  • Hawk Green Seeking to Join League in 2019
Cheshire County Cricket League APRIL, 2018 NEWSLETTER Hawk Green seeking to join League in 2019 DERBYSHIRE & Cheshire League club Hawk Green have applied to join the Vivio Cheshire County League at the end of the 2018 season. With a fine ground at Rhode Field, Upper Hibbert Lane, situated a couple of miles from Marple, Hawk Green made a formal application to switch leagues via the Cheshire Clubs Cricket Committee. The development was subsequently discussed between the officers of the County and Cheshire Leagues and, considering the strength of the club and its impressive facilities, it was agreed to advocate that Hawk Green be admitted to the County League for the 2019 season, to play in Division Two. If a proposal that they should be admitted, to be made by Didsbury and seconded by Tattenhall, is ratified at the League management meeting at Warrington on Wednesday, April 11, only the bottom club in Division 2 will be relegated from the County League and only the champion club promoted from the UK Fast League at the end of the 2018 campaign. Hawk Green 2nd XI would then also be promoted to play in the County League’s Second Division. Reporting to the League’s March Cricket Committee, chairman David Humpage said: “Hawk Green are the current Derbyshire and Cheshire League champions and have good playing strength throughout the club, and they possess a ground which easily passes muster. While some people in the UK Fast League felt Hawk Green should start at the bottom of the pyramid and work their way up, it was the general consensus that Hawk Green were of sufficient calibre to merit a place in the County League in 12 months’ time”.

  • Tolchards Devon Cricket League Introduction to the Disciplinary Regulations
Tolchards Devon Cricket League Introduction to the Disciplinary Regulations The DCL has always been committed to maintaining the highest standards of behaviour and conduct – the great game of cricket relies upon everyone playing their part to make every match a success. These regulations rely upon clubs and captains taking responsibility for ensuring that cricket is played in an appropriate manner and for taking any necessary action. The MCC Laws of Cricket and the Spirit of Cricket provide more than adequate guidance. In simple terms, these Disciplinary Regulations have four levels of seriousness, from Level 1 – the least serious, to Level 4 – the most serious. The Regulations include the appropriate penalty for each level. In the DCL, everyone should be aware that a suspension of 2 matches equates to a suspension of not playing any cricket matches for TWO weeks. During that suspension period, the individual or team or club is suspended from the playing of any cricket within Devon and any cricket elsewhere that comes under the auspices of the ECB. Level 1 and Level 2: Clubs will be requested by the DCL to take the appropriate action for any Level 1 and Level 2 offences that have been reported by the Umpires. Clubs will be advised of the minimum action to be taken and will be requested to inform the DCL when they have taken such action. Of course, Clubs can always apply additional or stronger penalties in regard to breaches of the Code of Conduct. Level 3 and Level 4: In the case of Level 3 or 4 offences that have been reported by the Umpires, the Discipline Officer will convene a three person Disciplinary Panel.
