2017 Spring Show

We have been invited to join the Colorado Chord Company (CCC) for their Spring Show with headline quartet Storm Front on Sunday , March 19th, which we have accepted. Matinee only.

The show will be held at a location to be be determined. We will have 250 tickets to sell. We will be paying for the venue, while CCC will be paying Storm Front. After paying our expenses we will keep all the proceeds of our ticket sales. Ticket prices to be determined by our Board of Directors.

The theme of the show is "Broadway!" A number of the songs from our Disney/Silver Screen show were also in Broadway productions, so we will recycle those charts, and bring up a few from our old repertoire that are also from Broadway. We will undoubtedly sing "Give My Regards To Broadway" with CCC (as we have in the past, with We can't believe it! The Pine are the 2016 Rocky Mountain District Champions! We had so much fun and had such an choreography) and we will probably learn a new song or two. amazing experience. We thank all our supporters and friends We'll begin polishing up these songs right after our Dec. 3rd and family. We also want to thank all of our coaches, especially Christmas show (which we are also presenting with CCC). Mark Hale, Sean Mondragon, and Darin Drown. We're ecstatic

Storm Front won the 2010 International Quartet to represent our home chorus Sound of the Rockies , and Championship, and is immensely popular since their gimmick is George's home chorus America the Beautiful , and Johnny's Longmont Chorus . Thanks again everyone. We love all of you. comedy. This will be a great show to invite friends who not only enjoy great barbershop harmony but also love to bust a gut Facebook, Oct. 10th laughing.

Between RTD Senior Ride and our own personal ticket sales (everybody sell at least four each?) we should have no problem selling all 250 tickets and enjoying a pretty profit with no risk and very little work. More to follow. BARBERSHOP HARMONY SINGERS WANTED!

RMD House of Delegates Report

In conjunction with the RMD convention (quartet and chorus competitions) this past weekend (October 8 - 9), the House of Delegates (HOD) meeting was held. The HOD is the governing body for the district, and the President of our chapter, Jon Dreger , is an ex - officio member. As Jon was unable to attend, I represented the chapter at this meeting. Today, my barbershop quartet, Hit or Miss , performed during the annual Littleton Scavenger Hunt. District Executive Vice - President Bob Fox reported on a Senior Chorus “competition” to be held at the national mid - winter Barbershop Gospel Patriotic Inspirational convention this year for the first time. He floated the idea of forming a district - wide chorus of seniors (55+) to represent the Rocky Mountain district in future years. As the Society is in the process of developing a long range (5 - 10 years) development plan, the HOD meeting was followed by a listening session with society representatives. It was a structured query about “opportunity” and “threat.” My take - away was that, when something is being discussed (like female full membership in the society) in the planning process, it does not mean that it has been decided.

We will help you reach a level of quality you can be proud of.

The four of you will need to come up with a temporary name, a uniform, and most importantly, determine the hours you are available and willing to deliver Singing Valentines. Next year Valentine's Day is on a Tuesday (which is great for business) and deliveries will probably run from 8:00 AM (or earlier) to 10:00 PM (or later).

Heroes who want to work all day are welcome, but if you have or choose to have limited availability, the planners at Valentine Central need to know that (well in advance of Valentine's Day). Because we anticipate orders will come in early (for a holiday which falls during the work week) the schedulers need to know how much "manpower" we have for any given window of time.

Contact [email protected] or 303 233 - 6234 to report your interest in singing. We will do a vocal assessment, and once we have three other guys, we'll place you where appropriate. This is very possibly the MOST FUN you will ever have with this barbershop harmony hobby.

About midway in our history Dave Stevens came along. Dave was very “center pole” in the umbrella of barbershop. He didn’t do a lot of fancy stuff but his arrangements were very singable for anyone. If you have not seen it, you should get the video of Dave’s “What Are We Trying To Preserve?” It’s a classic and the following tag is classic Stevens. Note the strong circle of fifths and all the seventh chords.
