A wild one at the estate of Trager Watson in the hills of Beverly to benefit the Jenesse Center

On Saturday, June 21st filmmaker Trager Watson, celebrity publicist Liza Anderson of Warren Cowan and Associates and personal manager Karen Abouab threw a gala at the estate of Trager Watson in the hills of Beverly celebrating the opening night of Summer 2003 to benefit the Jenesse Center, the oldest domestic violence center for abused women and children in South Central Los Angeles. With over 400 people in attendance, the festivities included tequila and vodka bars, Women on stilts Mardi Gras women on 12-foot stilts, an oxygen bar, and special visits by a Bengal Tiger, an albino python and “Angel” the chimp.

There were go-go dancers on the rafters, a mermaid splashing in the pool, a tarot card reader, a contortionist on the pool table and a henna tattoo artist on the patio. The world renowned 70’s band “Boogie Nights” performed until 2 AM followed by the sounds of infamous DJ Andrew Mackie. LA hotspots the “Spanish Kitchen” and the well-known celebrity hangout “The Belmont” catered the food. In the center of the front lawn a log cabin was constructed which previewed a series of short films created by Trager Watson.

Guests included actors Michael Madsen, Judd Nelson, “ 7th Heaven’s” George and Geoff Stults, “Spiderman’s” Jason Pagdett, “Seinfeld” and “The Tic’s” Patrick Warburton, actress Virginia Madsen, internationally known singer Anastacia, “Days of Our Lives” Eric Winter, “Harold and Maude’s” Budd Cort, “Lawnmower Man” and “The Marshall’s” Jeff Fahey, famous criminal attorney Robert Shapiro, famed Hollywood photographer Harry Langdon, “Beverly Hills 90210’s” Joe E. Tata, to name a few. Also in attendance were some of Hollywood’s most Dancing on stilts powerful agents, managers and producers.

The generous donations brought by the guests were so abundant that they were carried away in a U-Haul.

At the end of the evening, the guests were asked to turn in a skeleton key that came with the invitation for which they received a gift bag with

Hampton Designer Showhouse presented by House & Garden, to benefit Southampton Hospital

Last Saturday night they held the annual Designer Showhouse gala benefit for Southampton Hospital at a big wonderful old house on Great Plains Road in Southampton.

The Hampton Designer Showhouse

In the past few years the Showhouse has been held at Villa Maria a few miles away in Water Mill. Lots of large rooms; a great space. This year’s house, a private residence that’s been in the family for years and years; was not as large as Villa Maria, but large nonetheless. And for the visitor it’s also an opportunity to get a good look at the interior of one of these great old private houses in the estate area of Southampton. With great rooms too, large and small with lots of nooks and crannies. An interesting challenge interestingly met by a group of some of the top decorator/designers from New York and in the Hamptons.

Opening nighters were treated to the grand tour of design ideas and schemes as well as that old reliable: the cocktail party.

The Showcase is in an old weathered-shingle, white frame mansion on Great Plains Road (second right off First Neck Lane, off Hill Street, also known as Route 27A) in the heart of the estates area of Southampton.
