INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT/BACKGROUND INFORMATION Identification of project and project proponent. In case of mining project, a copy of mining lease/ letter of intent should be given SRI. K. Venkateswara Rao, S/o. Sri. K.Venkata Ratnam, has filed an application for grant a quarry lease for Gravel over an extent of 0.931 Hectares in Sy. No. 4/1A & 4/1B of kothapalli (V), Bapulapadu (M), Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh State, for a period of 05 years by the vide reference 1st cited, the same was received by the Asst . Director of Mines and Geology, Vijayawada on 07-12-2016. The Assistant Director of Mines and Geology, Vijayawada Vide Reference 2nd cited proposals on the application duly recommending for grant of Quarry lease for Gravel an Extent of 0.902 Hects in Sy.no: 4/1A & 4/1B of Kothapalli Village, Bapulapadu Mandal. Krishna District for a period up to 22.11.2019. Prefeasibility Report of Gravel of SRI. K. VENKATESWARA RAO,Sy. No 4/1A & 4/1B of Kothapalli (V), Bapulapadu (M), Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh State (i) Brief description of the nature of the project The proposed project is a Gravel project located over an extent of 0.902 Ha in Sy. No 4/1A & 4/1B of Kothapalli (V), Bapulapadu (M), Krishna District Andhra Pradesh. The applicant proposed to produce 52,500 MT per annum from the subject quarry. (ii) Need for the project & its importance to the country and or region The gravel is used for the construction process which is used in the basements of buildings. And it is used for the Roads and B.T Roads . Demand- Supply Gap The Gravel which is produced from the subject Quarry will be used in almost and type of constructions activity and railway projects and other construction activities. (iii) imports vs. Indigenous production The Gravel will be consumed in the domestic as well as (iv) Export possibility The Gravel is , Located in and around Telangana and Andhrapradesh. The Gravel will be consumed in the domestic as well as in local areas. Hence it is export products. (v) Domestic/Export Markets There is a possibility of Export. The Gravel will be consumed in the domestic areas Employment generation (direct and indirect) due to the project About 20 persons will be employed directly and indirect employment will also be provided I the form of helpers, drivers etc., It will provide employment to the people residing in vicinity. 3. PROJECT DESCRIPTION (i) Type of Project Including Interlinked And Independent Projects, If Any: The Subject project is a Gravel Quarry project located over an extent of extent of 0.902 Ha in Sy. No 4/1A & 4/1B of Kothapalli Village, Bapulapadu Mandal, Krishna District. Andhra Pradesh State. The applicant proposed to produce 52500 MT per annum of the subject quarry. Open Cast Semi Mechanized Method of Mining will be adopted. Prefeasibility Report of Gravel of SRI. K. VENKATESWARA RAO,Sy. No 4/1A & 4/1B of Kothapalli (V), Bapulapadu (M), Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh State (ii) Location (map showing general location, specific location, and project boundary & project site layout) with coordinates- (iii) Details of Alternate Sites Considered and the basis of selecting the proposed site, particularly the environmental considerations gone into should be highlighted. No 4/1A & 4/1B of Kothapalli (V), Bapulapadu (M), Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh State (iv) Size or Magnitude of Operation The total extent of the quarry lease area is 0.50 Ha and it is proposed to produce 52500 MT per annum from this quarry. The year wise production proposed is shown in the following table. (vi) Demands-Supply Gap The demand for Gravel has been steadily increasing over the years to the requirement of constructions based process. (vii) Availability of Water Its Source, Energy /Power Requirement and Source The total water requirement of the project is 10KLd which will be used for Dust Suppression, Green Belt Development and Domestic Purposes. This water will be sourced from water tankers. (viii) Exploration already carried in the area: Applied area for grant of mining lease was demarcated on the ground with reference to revenue pillars. No 4/1A & 4/1B of Kothapalli (V), Bapulapadu (M), Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh State SITE ANALYSIS (i) Connectivity (ii) The location of quarry is well connected with good infrastructure as State Highway connecting Nuzivid town is at 12 Km away from the quarry and adequate availability of skilled manpower is available for quarry operations. (iii) Land Form, Land Use and Land Ownership The mining lease is located in govt land. The QL applied area is a flat area in the form of Topography along with Map The quarry lease applied area of Rocky barren mound with towards relief S-N Direction. The highest contour is 65.5 mts and lowest contour is 64.5 mts . (iv) Soil Classification The soil observed in the area is Red Sand Soil (v) Climatic Data from Secondary Sources The area is falling under semi-arid tropical zone. The area is having dry climate. The temperature recorded in this area is 25°C in winter and about 48°C in summer seasons. The wind direction is in SW to NE. The average annual rainfall of the area is 1000 mm. (vi) Environmental Requirements: Proper planning of Approach Roads, Crushing Plant with green belt management and water sprinkling of haul roads will achieve hygienic quarry. Closure and Reclamation program shall be strictly implemented after exhaustion of ore in the quarry. (vii) Legal Parameters and Others : The quarry lease is valid upto 2 Years and granted over in Govt. Land. The quarry is under operation without any hindrances, which indicates the public acceptance for quarrying. The quarry is providing an employment for local labor of about 25 members. The quarry authorities / owner has to strictly adhere to future forthcoming any new rules and regulations. The area is not situated in tribal area and any national parks are not situated in the surrounding area. .

ABSTRACT-- Ground water is one of the important fresh water resources available for human consumption. Early people recognized the importance of water from a quantity view point. However assessment of the quality of ground water is essential for improving its potability. In this project work we have estimated the water quality of Bapulapadu Mandal which is located 10km away from the Gannavaram airport on east coast of Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, India. Water quality is tested for about 10 physico-chemical parameters of 90 water samples collected from various locations of 27 villages from Bapulapadu Mandal. The ground water samples are collected manually from the bore wells which were approximately equally distributed all over 27 villages of Bapulapadu Mandal. The samples were analyzed using MULTI- PARAMETER TEST KIT, which provide quick and easy water quality testing in the field. The combined effect of all there parameters was expressed in terms of WATER QUALITY INDEX. Bapulapadu Mandal map has been collected and analyzed. The data base obtained from water quality testing is used as attribute data base for preparation of thematic maps showing the spatial distribution of various water quality parameters.
