State, 1 p.m.* • The 2019 MEAC volleyball regular season saw Howard and North Delaware State at Coppin State, 6 p.m.* Carolina A&T State win their respective divisions, each team only Howard at Morgan State, 6 p.m.* losing one match in league play, before the MEAC Volleyball Cham- pionship took place on Howard’s campus. Morgan State’s Zoe Mc- Bride and North Carolina A&T State’s Edie Brewer were named MEAC Co-Players of the Year. The Bison outlasted Morgan State in a five-set thriller in the championship match. GAMES LAST WEEK 2020 MEAC VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP • The 2020 MEAC Volleyball Championship will take place on the Thursday, February 4 campus of Norfolk State University the weekend of April 2-3, Fri- Delaware State 3, Norfolk State 1 day-Saturday. The top two teams in each division will qualify for the tournament, which will see its field cut from eight teams to four Friday, February 5 because of issues surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Saturday’s Temple 3, Coppin State 0 championship match will likely once again be broadcast live on one East Carolina 3, North Carolina A&T 1 of ESPN’s family of networks (exact network and match time are still to be determined), with the winner earning the MEAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Volleyball Championships. Howard has won the last five MEAC Tournament titles.
