Through the Erie Canal Bike Path Extension project, the City of North Tonawanda will design and construct a pedestrian/bicycle path along the historic Erie Canal in the City of North Tonawanda. The new path – which will connect Mayor’s Park, a City of North Erie Canal Bike Path Niagara municipal waterfront park, with the terminus of the existing path Canals $144,707 Tonawanda Extension at the intersection of Payne Avenue and Sweeney Street – will add approximately 1.1 miles of publicly accessible waterfront path and will give the city the opportunity to continue the path in future stages to other city amenities

The City of North Tonawanda will design and construct improvements to the central and southern marina basins at City of North Gratwick Marina Gratwick Park Marina along the Niagara River. Western NY Region Total: $2,652,448 Finger Lakes Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, PTNY will undertake a multi-faceted, targeted marketing Ontario, Parks & Trails Erie Canalway Trail campaign to attract national and international cyclists and Orleans, ESD MNY $80,000 New York Shuttle Pilot adventure travelers to the 365- mile Erie Canalway Trail Seneca, extending across 14 New York State counties. Wayne, Wyoming, Yates The Friends of Letchworth State Park will repair and repoint two Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)-built stone chimneys in the Friends of Park and install thematic signage to provide historic Livingston, Letchworth Park Improvements interpretation and directions to artifacts. The project is part of a Parks HPA $16,200 Wyoming State Park larger on-going effort to preserve the CCC legacy and to increase public awareness and understanding of the great contributions the Corps made to New York State Parks. The City of Rochester will construct a public promenade along the Genesee River with a pedestrian ramp to connect to the City of Promenade at Erie Court Street Bridge, renovate the Johnson Seymour Mill Race Monroe DOS LWRP $1,200,000 Rochester Harbor Construction and River Wall and install educational signage. The promenade will establish a connection to the larger Genesee Gateway Trail System. The Town of Perinton proposes construction of a multi-use trail that will connect Spring Lake Park to the existing Irondequoit Creek Trail, which currently extends 6.2 miles from Irondequoit Town of Town of Perinton Monroe Creek through Channing Philbrick Park. The trail will be Parks RTP $169,940 Perinton Spring Lake Trail approximately 2,100 linear feet, will be usable by pedestrians, bicyclists, cross-country skiiers and snow-shoers, and will include access areas for fishing. The Friends of Ganondagan will construct a Seneca Art and Culture Center at Ganondagan (SACCG), located within a short walk from the state historic site’s reconstructed 17th-century Friends of Seneca Art and Seneca Bark Longhouse. The $17,000 center will make use of Ontario Ganondagan Culture Center at natural insulating properties and utilize a geothermal Parks PA $350,000 Inc. Ganondagan heating/cooling system. The finished product will be a tourism destination and visitors center and will provide space for exhibits, educational programs, lectures, performances, and events.

Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion is embarking on a capital project for the adaptive reuse of the Peacock House, the sole remaining building of the mansion’s previously extensive aviary Sonnenberg complex, which was developed between 1902 and 1923 and Ontario Gardens and Restoration Project Parks HPA $30,000 housed over 200 different species of birds. The restoration Mansion SHP project will include interior and exterior restoration and the renovation of ADA access points to develop a building appropriate for event-use.

The Village of Holley in Orleans County will use this funding in order to undertake the Holley Canal Park Improvement Project. Project activities include improvements to the existing gazebo, pavilions, and stone paths. New elements of the park will include new tree planting, installation of grills and picnic tables, Village of Holley Canal Park Orleans fire pits, and the purchase of new equipment to maintain the Canals $65,776 Holley Improvement Project park. These amenities will enhance the experience of the thousands of boaters and bicyclists who come to – and travel through – the Holley Canal Park each season and add to the tremendous economic impact the Canal system brings to the Village of Holley. The Village of Macedon will design enhancements to the underutilized Macedon Canal Park including an ADA compliant Village of Macedon Canal Park Wayne fishing/boat access platform and kayak launch, comfort station, DOS LWRP $21,225 Macedon Enhancements picnic pavilion improvements, wayfinding signage kiosks, walkways, and lighting. Letchworth State Park, a spectacular landscape of waterfalls, gorges, and forests along 17 miles of the Genesee River, is renowned as the “Grand Canyon of the East.” Currently, there is Open Space Lechworth Nature no dedicated facility to host environmental programs for the Wyoming Parks PA $288,000 Institute Center 750,000+ visitors the park attracts annually. The Nature Center will provide a year-round, ADA-compliant facility to present exhibits, programs, and tools to stimulate deeper understanding and exploration of the park’s unique resources.

The Finger Lakes Land Trust intends to develop recently acquired land, a cove beach with 390 feet of shoreline, into part Shoreline to Summit of the proposed Canandaigua Lake Water Trail. Development of Finger Lakes Enhancing Public the new preserve will involve demolition of two small structures Yates Parks PA $171,585 Land Trust Access on near the shore, work to clear invasive species, and creation of a Canandaigua Lake hiking trail to open the property to the public. Southern Tier The restoration of Canifield Park, which dates back to the early 20th Century, will include grading and drainage improvements, restoration of the network of paths, installation of benches, and Steuben City of Corning Canfield Park Project landscaping. While caring for the existing infrastructure and Parks PA $114,302 demonstrating environmental improvements, the project is expected to help revitalize the adjacent commercial and residential area by bringing residents and visitors to the park.

GIGP funds will support the installation of pervious pavement as part of a complete renovation of the Taughannock Falls State Park overlook, one of the most visited locations in the region. Taughannock Green Infrastructure Tompkins The project will incorporate green infrastructure in a prominent EFC GIGP $320,000 Falls Park Retrofit setting that showcases an important scenic geologic resource, the 215-foot-high Taughannock Falls, of one of the highest waterfalls in the Northeast. The City of Cortland is home to Wickwire Pool, located in Suggett Park. The Onondaga Historical Association’s Ska nonh Planning Project will repurpose an under-utilized facility and grounds in Onondaga Liverpool, NY into a Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) heritage Onondaga Historical Ska nonh Planning Arts CHPG $50,000 museum and recreational trails. It will provide opportunities for Association Native American artists, crafters, performers, and entrepreneurs to have access to a broader audience and customers. In 2010, Carrier Corporation donated the Willis Carrier Recreation Center to the Town of DeWitt with an agreement Town of Willis Carrier that the park forever remain a public recreational facility. The Onondaga ESD MNY $247,500 DeWitt Recreation Center goal of this project is to build a one-of-a-kind, all-inclusive outdoor multi-sports complex to be enjoyed by all residents and visitors of Central New York.

Kasoag Trailblazers, Inc., a non-profit, all volunteer member snowmobile club in northeastern Oswego County, grooms and Kasoag maintains approximately 48 miles of New York State Oswego Trailblazers, 2013 Groomer Grant snowmobile trail. The club will use grant funding to purchase a Parks RTP $127,200 Inc. new groomer, allowing them to provide safe snowmobile trails for over 310 club members and the estimated 40,000 sleds per week that visit the area.

Grant funds will be used towards the acquisition of a privately- owned property for public parkland, site work to prepare the parcel, and installation of picnic accommodations and park Village of Oswego Lacona Park Project equipment for children of all abilities. North Country To improve the accessibility to historic Heyworth/Mason Park and Sullivan Sports Park, the hamlet of Peru proposes the construction of a 1.5-mile, paved, non-motorized trail. The trail’s Connecting Town Clinton Town of Peru completion Parks RTP $200,000 Parks will also link residential, commercial and natural areas and provide safe, off-road recreational opportunities for all ages and abilities in the community. To improve the accessibility to historic Heyworth/Mason Park and Sullivan Sports Park, the hamlet of Peru proposes the Trail Connecting construction of a 1.5-mile, paved, non-motorized trail. The trail’s Clinton Town of Peru Heyworth/Mason Park Parks PA $58,000 completion will also link residential, commercial and natural to Sullivan Park areas and provide safe, off-road recreational opportunities for all ages and abilities in the community.

The Town of Plattsburgh will prepare the Lake Champlain/Saranac River Waterfront Plan to explore hamlet Lake redevelopment strategies, improve waterfront access and Town of Clinton Champlain/Saranac connect the hamlets to Lake Champlain through a greenway DOS LWRP $25,000 Plattsburgh River Waterfront Plan trail system. Additionally, conceptual designs will be developed for improvements to connect the hamlets to the Saranac River and Lake Champlain waterfronts. Jay Park was completely destroyed by Hurricane Irene. The Town of Ticonderoga will use GIGP funds to incorporate stream daylighting, bioretention, and a constructed wetland Town of adjacent to Bicentennial Park. Dedicated Residents to Area Grooming (DRAG) of Speculator, NY will purchase a reconditioned Class A snow grooming D.R.A.G. of DRAG Trail Groomer machine and drag, and replace a set of tracks on one of the Hamliton Speculator, Parks RTP $80,000 Purchase club’s existing grooming machines, to assist with maintaining an Inc. increased number of safe and enjoyable snowmobile trails over the winter season. Pleasant Rider Snowmobilers, Inc. plans to purchase a new Pleasant Rider Hamliton Groomer Grant Class II groomer to provide the necessary trail maintenance for Parks RTP $56,600 Snowmobilers Class II trails.

The Towns will also continue development of St. Lawrence Town of Fine and Recreation DOS LWRP $67,500 waterfront access sites, develop a master trail guide for the Development Clifton Fine area, and update the local waterfront revitalization strategy to identify new tourism infrastructure and wilderness recreation projects that promote sustainable economic development in the Adirondack Park.

The City of Ogdensburg, in partnership with the Towns of Oswegatchie, Canton, Dekalb and Fine, the Villages of Heuvelton, Rensselaer Falls and Gouverneur and St. Lawrence City of Oswegatchie River St. Lawrence, Jefferson County, will prepare the Oswegatchie River Blueway Trail DOS LWRP $25,000 Ogdensburg Blueway Trail Development Plan. The Plan will provide an strategy to develop and promote this resource as a regional asset for tourism, recreation and community development. City of Oswegatchie River Planning grant to create Blueway Trail along the 112 mile St. Lawrence, Jefferson ESD SPFS $25,000 Ogdensburg Blueway Trail waterway. North Country Region Total: $2,082,313 Capital Region This project will construct 5.5 miles of a proposed 9.3 mile shared -use path along a former rail bed. The funding will assist in the final design and construction of the path. The Harlem Valley Rail Trail Association is seeking funding for the construction of 1.54 miles of Rail Trail in southeastern Harlem Valley Columbia County, from Black Grocery Road in Copake to Harlem Valley Rail Rail Trail Anthony Street in Hillsdale. Construction of this section of the Columbia Trail Constuction from Parks PA $375,584 Association trail will link with the Town of Hillsdale to the Roeliff Jansen Copake to Hillsdale Inc. State Park and Roeliff Jansen Community Library. It will bring the quiet Hamlet of Hillsdale within the Harlem Valley Rail Trail's sphere of economic vitality.

The Olana Partnership (TOP) will create design documents for the stabilization and restoration of the 19th Century Main Barn Design and plans for complex at Olana, the home, studio, farm, and landscape restoration of the Main The Olana designed by School artist Frederic Edwin Church, Columbia Barn complex at Parks HPA $195,000 Partnership with the eventual goal of restoring the entire barn structure so Olana State Historic that it can be opened to the public. Warren County working with the Towns of Hadley, Lake Luzerne and Stony Creek and the Sacandaga-Hudson Advisory County will advance four projects to implement the First Wilderness intermunicipal First Wilderness Heritage Corridor Plan.
