BASSHUNTER - Angels ain’t Listening POP/ DANCE Swedish icon of dance music Basshunter returns with a dynamic new single called “Angels ain’t Listening”. The song expresses an emotional side to Basshunter that hasn’t been seen in recent years, with powerful lyrics detailing the shadow side of his life. This ’80s-pop-inspired but undeniably forward-thinking track has been produced by Jimmy Joker (Mylene Farmer, Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias). Basshunter co-wrote this track with Jimmy Thornfeldt (Pitbull, Willy William, Nicki Minaj), Bilal Hajji (Afrojack, Khaled) and Thomas G:son (Loreen, Mohombi). “Angels ain’t Listening” will be released on May 29th through the label PowerHouse. “The song is about knowing “Angels ain't listening” and needing to find myself before I give any person my time forever," says Basshunter. “I’ve realised that it’s so important to make a good relationship with yourself before you can get into one with someone else. We all make mistakes, fucking up and learning lessons the hard way, but we should always keep our heads up and have some fun in our life!” Basshunter is one of the most notable, influential, and longstanding names in modern dance music. His ever-growing collection of tunes is loaded with dance classics, including his breakout hits “Now You’re Gone” (“Boten Anna” in Sweden), “All I ever wanted”, “Angel in the Night”, “I Miss You”, “DotA”. Basshunter has been interviewed by journalist Måns Mosesson for the official biography of legendary Tim Bergling aka Avicii as he was a big influence for Avicii at the start of his musical career. Over the past several years, Basshunter has transitioned from the traditional main stage sound and embraced his more intimate house music roots, eliciting an overwhelmingly positive response. Hur många svenska artister finns det som säljer över 300 000 album enbart i England? Och hur många andra svenska artister har till exempel Nya Zeeländarna ens hört talas om? Vi passar då på att nämna att Basshunter sålt tre (3!) gånger platina i Nya Zeeland... Det är svårt för oss i Sverige att förstå vidden av Basshunters oerhörda popularitet. Han är en av YouTubes absolut mest populära artister, och alla hans videor har mellan 10 och 60 miljoner tittningar. Fullständigt makalösa siffror. Nu är Basshunter tillbaka med nytt material och det med besked. Efter att ha sålt sammanlagt över 1,2 miljoner enheter i UK och med både singel och album på förstaplatsen på listorna släpper Basshunter albumet Bass Generation 30 september i Sverige och första singeln Every Morning gick till radio i förra veckan. 2010 Press release 31 August 2010 Ministry for Foreign Affairs Music and fashion to put Sweden on the map - Government earmarks SEK 1 million for promotion initiatives Swedish music, fashion and digital games are a few industries that can promote the image of Sweden abroad. They are three creative industries that have a good reputation beyond our borders, and there is a great deal of interest in them. This is why the Government is now investing even more in the experience industry, especially since we have seen that activities previously conducted abroad have generated a lot of interest and received a positive response. These investments have helped to attract more tourists to Sweden and created an interest among foreign entrepreneurs in business opportunities. Our talented songwriters, designers and others involved in the experience industry abroad have helped to put Sweden on the world map. For a small country, Sweden has a strong position as an exporter of music - we are ranked fifth after other countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom. The music business is an important part of the Swedish experience industry, which is an expanding export industry and a major growth sector. In 2009, the experience industry accounted for over 5 per cent of Sweden's GDP, and it employs 280 000 people. "We have seen that the experience industry is very important for people's image of Sweden abroad. When I'm out travelling, I often hear how people associate Sweden with Abba, Max Martin, Robyn, DICE and Odd Molly. This is why it's really important that we promote this sector, so that we can become even stronger and more talked about beyond our borders," says Minister for Trade Ewa Björling, who is responsible for promoting the image of Sweden.
