From the Desk of the ODC Chairman:

April 2020

Greetings to our Honorable Diocesan Bishop James W. Gaiters, to the prestigious Board of Directors, Offi cers, Board, and the constituency of the great Ohio District Council.

Praise Th e Lord! Let us continue to give exalted praise to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

“Where there is no vision the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18

Solomon was compelled to write the importance of vision. As we, who are a part of God’s great body of spirit fi lled believers focus on 2020, let us remember the vitality of the great gospel message that our God has entrusted unto us to proclaim and resonate to the world around us. Our Apostolic Message has the vitality the world so drastically needs. Our blind world, which encompasses us, has no vision of the present working of Christ in this world, which is causing love and hope to fade. Our world has no vision of the Divine Fatherhood; therefore, their devotion has decayed. It is up to us to declare the vision of our God’s possibilities in human nature to restore the spirit of sympathy which has decayed. Let us proclaim the vision which is our duty to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and holiness, which has declined, will return. We as Apostolic People have been given the true vision, the revelation of God. Our message has vitality.

Vitality: exuberant strength and mental vigor. Capacity for survival or for the continuation of a meaningful or purposeful existence.

“We Have It!”

Yours under the Sovereignty of God,

Bishop Melvin L. Brown, Jr. Ohio District Council Chairman

Bishop James W. Gaiters, Sr., Diocesan April, 2020 Greetings in Jesus’ Name! “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world, Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20 These are the last words of Jesus as He is ending His earthly ministry. I have learned that a person’s last words before he or she leaves this earth are so valuable that they can be accepted as evidence in a court of law. It cannot be stressed enough that the church needs to follow these final instructions from Jesus. These words, known as “The Great Commission,” appear in a synoptic view in the other Gospels. The basic idea of our Lord’s last words is that his followers will begin at Jerusalem and take this Gospel all over the world. His strategic plan for the Church must be our plan as well. We are commanded to witness, preach, teach and make disciples for the Kingdom of God. We must encourage men and women not only to be baptized in Jesus’ name, but also to be filled with the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues, and we must then continue to teach them the principles of the Apostolic Doctrine and to lead a holy life. Jesus said “…and look on the fields, for they are white already to harvest.” (John 4:35b) The seed of the gospel has already been sown, and nothing can stop its maturation. The Bible says, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11) Brothers and Sisters of the Ohio District Council, as we rethink our efforts for soul winning, we must be diligent in prayer for guidance, wisdom, and strength that souls might be birthed into the Kingdom. This effort to win souls must be backed up with prayer. We must be successful in prayer if we are to be successful in winning souls. “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few.” (Luke 10:2) By His Grace,

Bishop James W. Gaiters, Sr. Diocesan
