While it seems that magic will solve all the problems a teenager can have, Sabrina has to live a double life keeping up with her duties in the mortal world as well as Magic Realm. Her longtime boyfriend, Harvey, is completely oblivious to her strength, and Sabrina would rather keep him that way than risk freaking him out and losing him! She is persistent and honest, but often looks before she jumps and then regrets her decisions. Fortunately, her aunts, Hilda and zelda, and her sorcerer-turned cat Salem are there to guide her through anything that may come her way. Want to see more sabrina? More Cool Characters! December 1, 2017 December 1, 2017News chilling adventures sabrina, Sabrina, Sabrina teenage witch 12 A long time ago, there were three witches who lived in the small town of Riverdale. Two aunts, Hilda and zelda, choose the ingredients to create an evil witch. But all of a sudden, she stumbled right into Hilda and accidentally added beautiful girls things as an extra ingredient. This is how the most formidable teenage witch was born. She has white hair with a pink bandage and blue eyes. She wears a blue dress with a black belt and black shoes. She likes to get away with it and fight evil forces using her ultra magical powers. It so happened that she is the first mesmerizing all-American superhero - Sabrina, a teenage witch! - Opening of the narrative series Sabrina the Teenage Witch (titled Sabrina and Groovie Goolies or Sabrina Comedy Hour during its first season and is commercially called The Sabrina The Teenage Witch Show or The Sabrina Comedy Show) is an American low-budget animated series produced by Filmation, which aired on CBS from 1971 to 1974, which aired on CBS on Saturday morning. The series is also shown in prime time as a syndicated series. Based on Archie Comics's Sabrina the Teenage Witch, it was a spin-off of Archie Comedy Hour. The series featured new episodes of Sabrina along with Groovie Goolies. Now for the first time in the series, the Looney Tunes Gang have appeared in the animated series of the show. The series follows a crime-fighting teenage witch who likes to hang out and fight enemies using her magical powers, without letting her friends at Riverdale's high find out. As shown in the first sequence of the series, Sabrina Spellman created her aunts, aunts, Hilda and zelda in an attempt to create an evil, evil witch using a mixture of magic potions (shown in the respective fields of light green, and pink). However, zelda accidentally bumped hilda, causing to shed the stuff of teenage girls as extra ingredients in the mix, creating rather than an evil wicked witch. UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA Los Angeles Masks in Disguise: Exposing Minstrelsy and Racial Representation within American Tap Dance Performances of the Stage, Screen, and Sound Cartoon, 1900-1950 A dissertation submitted in partial satisfaction of the requirements for the degree Doctor of Philosophy in Culture and Performance by Brynn Wein Shiovitz 2016 © Copyright by Brynn Wein Shiovitz 2016 ABSTRACT OF THE DISSERTATION Masks in Disguise: Exposing Minstrelsy and Racial Representation within American Tap Dance Performances of the Stage, Screen, and Sound Cartoon, 1900-1950 by Brynn Wein Shiovitz Doctor of Philosophy in Culture and Performance University of California, Los Angeles, 2016 Professor Susan Leigh Foster, Chair Masks in Disguise: Exposing Minstrelsy and Racial Representation within American Tap Dance Performances of the Stage, Screen, and Sound Cartoon, 1900-1950, looks at the many forms of masking at play in three pivotal, yet untheorized, tap dance performances of the twentieth century in order to expose how minstrelsy operates through various forms of masking. The three performances that I examine are: George M. Cohan’s production of Little Johnny ii Jones (1904), Eleanor Powell’s “Tribute to Bill Robinson” in Honolulu (1939), and Terry- Toons’ cartoon, “The Dancing Shoes” (1949). These performances share an obvious move away from the use of blackface makeup within a minstrel context, and a move towards the masked enjoyment in “black culture” as it contributes to the development of a uniquely American form of entertainment. In bringing these three disparate performances into dialogue I illuminate the many ways in which American entertainment has been built upon an Africanist aesthetic at the same time it has generally disparaged the black body.
