Ashfield Update
NC - One hour free parking now introduced. They have lost some car parks, but are creating new car parks and Sutton market has moved to allow new car park to be built.
GJ – Hucknall-wants Resident Permits issued in one area valid in another area.
NC – converted parking times from 30 minutes stay to 2 hour stay on Outram Street.
Bassetlaw Update
JK – Talked about Camera Car doing routes around all schools in the area. Schools were visited to assess the danger, one school as added to red list at one school 24 PCN’s were issued. 3 new on street TRO’s were introduced as well as the introduction of bollards. Bus stop where buses are no longer using them are being turned in to special access bays. They have lost one car park but another is being added. Car parks are being split into 3 categories: shopper; visitor and leisure.
Broxtowe and Rushcliffe Update
DM – tram has now finished and is running smoothly. There are still some traffic orders not enforceable and there are problems with enforcing. New plans for car parks that will be pay and display; some discussion over whether it is necessary to always have p&d machines. Introduced mobile pay for some car parks this is checkable on the CEO’s handheld device. PCN’s would be hard for motorist to challenge if the ticket gets lost in the system for mobile pay car parks. Limited stay put in some car parks.
Gedling Update
JE – taxi drivers remain an issue in Arnold. There was a dip in PCN’s being issued on street. They have introduced new charges in some car parks. There is a conflict of use with some bays.
Mansfield Update
TS – Financial points. There was a large BPA bill. Discussion regarding sharing membership.
6. Dropped Kerbs
NSL: have now been instructed to issue PCNs to vehicles parked over dropped kerbs in place for pedestrian crossing points. The initial policy has focussed on enforcing crossings marked with tactile paving.
7. Camera Car
This had now been delivered by PA after fitting in Devon. The software is being tested and populated with restrictions with a view to beginning use in the New Year. NCC webpages will be amended to capture requests for the vehicle and PMs encouraged to push complaints regarding school parking to NCC.
8. NCC Highways
In April 2016, NCC Highways division would be largely moving into VIA, an arm’s length company jointly owned by Cornwall CC and NCC. CPU would not be part of this initial move although the intention is that it will move within the first year.
9. Virtual permits/dispensations
This project is sat in NCC’s IT/Chipside to deliver. No indication of timescales yet.
10. Date of next meeting
