A six time Gold Glove winner who patrolled center field with elegance and style, routinely scaling outfield walls to take away home runs. The 10-time All-Star’s career ended abruptly due to irreversible retinal damage in his right eye.”

Henry M. “Hank” O’Day (Elected in 2013 as an umpire) At Toledo for a championship (1883) and for a major league (1884) season. He was a solid pitcher and a capable fill-in both the and outfield. Though more famous as an umpire, O’Day pitched for seven years in the majors. He managed two years in the major leagues as well but was an umpire for much longer than he was a player or a manager. As an umpire, he was involved in the famous Merkle bonehead play. He was also the home plate umpire in the first World Series game in 1903 and would go on to officiate in 10 World Series.
