International Conference: Legacy Lives 2008 (January 28-30) Legacy Lives 2008, presented by pmpLEGACY in partnership with UK Sport and Legacy Barbados, is an annual international conference and exhibition to focus specifically on the importance of legacy. Following the very successful inaugural Legacy Lives conference in London in 2007, Legacy Lives 2008 will be held in Bridgetown, Barbados and once again, will address the significance that legacy now plays in bidding for major events.

This conference will bring together, from around the world, 300 senior policy and decision makers from cities, LOCs, National Olympic Committees (NOCs), major event rights holders such as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) plus International Federations to debate best practices and encourage knowledge transfer in legacy planning and implementation. Senior officials involved in bidding and staging a major event will benefit – whether looking at a potential bid in the future, currently engaged in the bidding process, have candidate city status or already be selected as the host city. Legacy Lives is not just about the mega events – it will look at the value of legacy planning for all sporting events regardless of their size. CSTA CEO, Rick Traer, is confirmed as a speaker at www.canadiansporttourism.com this event and will make a presentation on the STEAM Model. For more information, visit www.legacylives.com.
