The Bennet Family

The Bennet family had daughters. Their names were Jane,

Elizabeth, and Lydia.

Mr. Bennet wanted his daughters to marry men with lots

of money. Mr. Bennet wanted his daughters to meet arich

man named Mr. Bingley at a dance.

Mr. Darcy was not nice and said unkind things.

Mr. Bennet and Mrs. Bennet did not like Mr. Darcy.

Mr. Darcy met Elizabeth at the dance. Mr. Darcy did not think

Elizabeth looked good .

Mr. Darcy did not dance with Elizabeth.

A Friendly Talk

Jane, Elizabeth and their friend Charlotte talked about the

dance.

They agreed that Mr. Darcy was mean by not talking

to them. Elizabeth's feelings was sad. Charlotte thought

that Mr. Bingley liked Jane. Jane liked Mr. Bingley .

Elizabeth talked about different types of love.

at Sir William Lucas' dance.

Elizabeth said she did not want to dance.

Mr. Darcy still liked Elizabeth.

Jane Is Invited

Mr. Bennet and Mrs. Bennet owned small house in the

country.

Mrs. Bennet wanted her five daughters to marry men

with a large house and a lot of money.

Jane was invited to Mr. Darcy's large house.

Jane asked Elizabeth to go to Mr. Darcy's house.

Mr. Darcy thought that country girls were not smart.

Mr. Darcy liked Elizabeth. Elizabeth was smart.

Mr. Darcy and Jane

Jane was sick. Mrs. Bennet and her daughter Lydia

went to help Jane. Mr. Bingley and Lydia talked.

Mr. Bingley would dance with Jane when she felt

better. Mrs. Bennet thanked Mr. Bingley .

Elizabeth liked Mr. Darcy. She watched Mr. Darcy when he

came to the dance.

Mr. Darcy asked Elizabeth to dance.

Elizabeth said "No". Mr. Darcy said he didn't like it when

people said "No." Elizabeth thought Mr. Darcy was not kind

and not nice.

The Nasty Mr. Collins

Jane felt better. Jane thanked Mr. Bingley for the dance.

Jane went home to her family's house.

Mr. Bennet had a cousin named Mr. Collins. Mr. Collins was 25 years old

and worked as a minister. Mr. Collins was big and wanted

money..

Another man, Mr. Wickham went on the walk also.

Mr. Wickham ate dinner at the Bennet house. Mr. Collins did not

eat dinner and felt lonely and mad.

Mr. Wickham talks about Mr. Darcy

Mr. Wickham and Elizabeth talked at a party.

They talked about how Mr. Darcy got his father's

money when his father died. Mr. Darcy's father said the

money was for a church. Mr. Darcy used the money for

something else.

apromise to buy a church. Elizabeth was sad.

In Love

Jane talked to Elizabeth about Mr. Wickham

and Mr. Darcy. Elizabeth was confused.

Should Elizabeth like Mr.

Elizabeth danced with Mr. Collins .Hedanced well.

Elizabeth danced with Mr. Darcy. Mr. Darcy liked Elizabeth .

Jane told Elizabeth she wanted to be married.

Elizabeth says No

Mr. Collins asked Elizabeth to marry him.

Elizabeth said NO. Mr. Collins was mad and told Mrs. Bennet

Mrs. Bennet said Elizabeth was wrong to say NO.

did not want to see her again.

Elizabeth cried and cried.

Charlotte and Lydia tried to make Elizabeth feel better.

Jane is Sad

Mr. Bingley went to London.

Mr. Bingley 's mother wants her son to marry Charlotte

BUT Mr. Collins askes Charlotte to marry him.

Charlotte said YES she would marry Mr. Collins.

Charlotte wants abig house.

To London

Elizabeth's friend, Mrs. Gardiner, asked Elizabeth to visit her

in London. Elizabeth said she would not go to

London. Jane went to London.

Jane wrote her friend, Caroline. Caroline visited Jane.

Caroline said that Mr. Bingley did not like Elizabeth.

Elizabeth would be sad.

A visit to Charlotte

Elizabeth visited her friend Charlotte.

Elizabeth and Charlotte asked Lady Catherine to dinner .

Lady Catherine was loud, tall, and asked many questions.

Lady Catherine asked Elizabeth questions about Elizabeth's family.

Elizabeth did not tell Lady Catherine much information.

Elizabeth played the piano and did not talk.

Mr. Darcy Visits Elizabeth

Elizabeth sat alone. Mr. Darcy came to her door.

Mr. Darcy came inside and they talked.

Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth talked about their families .

Mr. Darcy left.

Charlotte said, "Mr. Darcy loves you, Elizabeth!"

Divorce

Elizabeth met her friend Colonel Fitzwilliam in the park.

Colonel said that Mr. Darcy helped his friend.

Mr. Darcy helped a friend with his divorce.

Elizabeth is mad and said she does not like Mr. Darcy.

A new Love

Mr. Darcy told Elizabeth he loves her.

Elizabeth is surprised.

Mr. Darcy asks Elizabeth to marry him.

Elizabeth says NO!

Mr. Darcy goes away.

A letter.

Elizabeth took awalkto find Mr. Darcy.

Mr. Darcy gave Elizabeth a letter.

The letter was explained about his friend's divorce.

Mr. Darcy tried to help his friend.

The letter explained that Mr. Darcy was a good man.

Remembering

Elizabeth read the letter from Mr. Darcy.

Elizabeth was confused. Elizabeth decided that Mr. Darcy was a

good man who told the truth.

Elizabeth felt sad. Elizabeth really loved Mr. Darcy.

Go to London

Mr. Bennet and Mrs. Bennet argued and argued.

Elizabeth needed a change. Elizabeth planned to go to London to

see Mr. Bingley. Mr. Bingley is her friend who got

adivorce.

Georgiana

Mr. Darcy brought Elizabeth to meet his sister.

His sister's name was Georgiana .

Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy rode in a carriage.

Mr. Darcy said nice words to Elizabeth.

Problems

Elizabeth got a letter from Jane.

The letter said Elizabeth and Jane's sister, Lydia ran away to

marry Mr. Wickham.

Mr. Darcy visited Elizabeth. Elizabeth told Mr. Darcy that Lydia

ran away.

The trip took two days.

Elizabeth and Jane talked a long time. They prayed that

Lydia was safe.

Lydia is Married

The Bennet family did not hear from Lydia.

Mrs. Bennet was very worried.

Many people said that Mr. Wickham did not have money.

How could Lydia marry a poor man?

that Lydia and Mr. Wickham were OK.

Lydia and Mr. Wickham would marry soon.

They were married and told many stories about their

wedding. Mr. Darcy helped Lydia and Mr. Wickham pay for

many things.

News

Mr. Bingley visited the Bennet family. Mr. Darcy came also.

Mr. Bingley liked Jane and watched her.

Mr. Darcy liked Elizabeth and watched her.

Jane and Mr. Bingley were getting married.

Jane and Elizabeth were excited.

Lady Catherine Complains

Lady Catherine visited the Bennet house.

Lady Catherine talked to Elizabeth.

She was very upset about Jane getting married.

Lady Catherine was upset about Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy.

Lady Catherine upset Elizabeth and Elizabeth left.

Happy Endings

Mr. Darcy came to see Elizabeth.

Mr. Darcy asked Elizabeth to marry him.

Elizabeth talked her father.

Elizabeth said she really loved Mr. Darcy.

Elizabeth's Mother was happy about the weddings.

They were very happy.
