Olethreutini 2 Olethreutini 2 Hedya, Celypha Hedya salicella (L.) 4713 19-24 mm. Hedya nubiferana (Hw.) Arten varierer lidt i farve. Hedya pruniana (Hb.) 4715 15-18 mm. Hedya pruniana (Hb.) Hedya pruniana (Hb.) Somme tider fundet i antal. Larvens spind. Foto Niels Lykke. Svensson nævner lyse nåleskove i Sverige. Celypha rurestrana (Dup.) Celypha rurestrana (Dup.) Celypha flavipalpana (H.-S.) 4727 12-17 mm.

A total of 232 species were recorded from early May to mid-August 2011, among them four new records for the country: Blastobasis desertarum, Agriphila tolli, Epimecia ustula und Mythimna riparia. These records seem to be largely based on global warming and/or introduction. Further interesting records include endangered species such as Catocala electa. • Towards Classical Biological Control of Leek Moth
____________________________________________________________________________ Ateyyat This project seeks to provide greater coherence for the biocontrol knowledge system for regulators and researchers; create an open access information source for biocontrol re- search of agricultural pests in California, which will stimulate greater international knowl- edge sharing about agricultural pests in Mediterranean climates; and facilitate the exchange of information through a cyberinfrastructure among government regulators, and biocontrol entomologists and practitioners. It seeks broader impacts through: the uploading of previ- ously unavailable data being made openly accessible; the stimulation of greater interaction between the biological control regulation, research, and practitioner community in selected Mediterranean regions; the provision of more coherent and useful information to enhance regulatory decisions by public agency scientists; a partnership with the IOBC to facilitate international data sharing; and progress toward the ultimate goal of increasing the viability of biocontrol as a reduced risk pest control strategy. Phylogeny, evolution and speciation of Choristoneura and Tortricidae (Lepidoptera) by Giovanny Fagua González A thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Systematics and Evolution Department of Biological Sciences University of Alberta © Giovanny Fagua González, 2017 Abstract Leafrollers moths are one of the most ecologically and economically important groups of herbivorous insects. These Lepidoptera are an ideal model for exploring the drivers that modulate the processes of diversification over time. This thesis analyzes the evolution of Choristoneura Lederer, a well known genus because of its pest species, in the general context of the evolution of Tortricidae. It takes an inductive view, starting with analysis of phylogenetic, biogeographic and diversification processes in the family Tortricidae, which gives context for studying these processes in the genus Choristoneura. Tectonic dynamics and niche availability play intertwined roles in determining patterns of diversification; such drivers explain the current distribution of many clades, whereas events like the rise of angiosperms can have more specific impacts, such as on the diversification rates of herbivores. Tortricidae are a diverse group suited for testing the effects of these determinants on the diversification of herbivorous clades. To estimate ancestral areas and diversification patterns in Tortricidae, a complete tribal-level dated tree was inferred using molecular markers and calibrated using fossil constraints. The time-calibrated phylogeny estimated that Tortricidae diverged ca. 120 million years ago (Mya) and diversified ca. 97 Mya, a timeframe synchronous with the rise of angiosperms in the Early-Mid Cretaceous. Ancestral areas analysis supports a Gondwanan origin of Tortricidae in the South American plate.

Vilhelmsen: Records of Micro lepidoptera from Denmark in 2008 (Lepidoptera). Ent. Meddr 77: 65-81. Copenhagen, Denmark 2009. ISSN 0013-8851. This artide reports and comments on interesting Danish Microlepidoptera collected in 2008, and inelude remarkable findings from previous years. The classification and nomenelature follow the Danish catalogue (Karsholt & Sta de! Nielsen, 1998) which is basedon the European checklist (Karsholt & Ra zowski (eds.), 1996) . Two species are reported as new to the Danish fauna: l) Caloptilia fidella (Reutti, 1853) (Gracillariidae). Several specimens were taken on theIsland of Bornholm in two different localities both as adults and larvae. 2) Scrabipalpula tussilaginis (Stainton, 1867) (Gelechiidae). The species has been found as lar va and adult at five different localities in Lolland, Zealand and Bornholm. The host plant is Tussilaga farfara. No specimens have been found in collections and tussilaginis is regarded as a recent immigrant. Phyllonarycter cerasicalella (Herrich-Schaffer, 1855) ( Gracillariidae) has re cently been raised to species level by Triberti (2007) and as a consequence of that i t is reintroduced to the list. A population of Caloptilia hemidactylella (D. & S.) has been found in South Jutland on Acer platanaides and on Acer campestre. Two tropical species ofPyralidae, Hypargyria metalliferella Ragonot, 1888 and Diplopseustis perieresalis (Walker, 1859), were taken in lighttrapsin Denmark. It is a question whether they are introduced species or migrants. A spedallist of species with uncertain status is introduced. The Palm Borer, Paysandisia arehan (Burmeister, 1880) is reported from one larva and one adult, both found o n palms ( Trachycarpus fortune) probably in troduced from Italy.

  • Moths and Management of a Grassland Reserve: Regular Mowing and Temporary Abandonment Support Different Species

Therefore, it appears as a wise bet-hedging strategy to manage reserves in diverse and patchy manners. Using portable light traps, we surveyed the effects of two contrasting management options, mowing and temporary abandonment, applied in a humid grassland reserve in a submountain area of the Czech Republic. Besides of Macrolepidoptera, we also surveyed Microlepidoptera, small moths rarely considered in community studies. Numbers of individiuals and species were similar in the two treatments, but ordionation analyses showed that catches originating from these two treatments differed in species composition, management alone explaining ca 30 per cent of variation both for all moths and if split to Marcolepidoptera and Microlepidoptera. Whereas a majority of macrolepidopteran humid grassland specialists preferred unmown sections or displayed no association with management, microlepidopteran humid grassland specialists contained equal representation of species inclining towards mown and unmown sections. We thus revealed that even mown section may host valuable species; an observation which would not have been detected had we considered Macrolepidoptera only.
