HBM4EU is a European-scale human biomonitoring initiative under Horizon 2020 that includes 30 countries and the European Environment Agency. HBM4EU supports chemical policies by building knowledge on the exposure of the European population to chemicals and subsequent impacts on health. Zero pollution applies as much to people as to the environment. The bodies of European citizens are contaminated by hundreds of chemicals. To attain zero pollution, Europe needs human biomonitoring to measure chemicals in the bodies of European citizens and to assess the associated health impacts. Europe needs a human biomonitoring surveillance system grounded in European Union legislation. Populations in countries such as the USA, Canada and Korea already benefit from national human biomonitoring systems, a cornerstone of risk assessment and sustainable chemical management. Several Member States also have systems in place, including France, Germany, Belgium, Sweden and Czech Republic.

    POLICY BRIEF IMK Policy Brief 95 · July 2020 THE GERMAN PRESIDENCY OF THE COUNCIL AND THE EU SOCIAL DIMENSION Laszlo Andor The German presidency of the Council and the EU social dimension Lazlo Andor On the 1st of July, Germany will take over the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union. Normally, holding the chair of the council is not something that is considered to be a power position, especially since the Prime Minister of the given country is not chairing the European Council, which has been headed by an elected President since the entry in force of the Lisbon Treaty. However, Germany is taking over the presidency at a critical time which, even without the COVID-19 crisis, would have been a decisive juncture. The COVID-19 crisis and its aftermath allows the German government to play an extraordinary role in shaping the future of the EU, and within that, its social dimension. In this policy brief, we first outline the German approach to „Social Europe” in a historical perspective, and present an overview of the evolution of the EU social dimension itself. This will be followed by a discussion of the key items on the social agenda during the forthcoming German presidency. A schedule of planned Presidency meetings is given in an annex. Germany and the social dimension of the EU Germany is a founding member of the EU that has been wedded to the idea of a social market economy, and also its practice. Strong and institutionalised social dialogue at all levels, together with the „Bismarckian” welfare state, have been the main features of a post-war model, which suffered a major shock during the German unification of the 1990s, but was restored subsequently, and in certain areas has further developed.

    WOJCIECH CEJROWSKI GRINGO WŚRÓD DZIKICH PLEMION AMAZONIA MARYMONT PELPLIN POZNAŃ 2OO6 [Skan JOTER] tę książkę dedykuję jej Tłumaczowi - bez Tłumacza nie byłaby tym, czym jest NOTA OD WYDAWCY Szanowni Państwo, Niniejsza książka zawiera dwa rodzaje przypisów: od Autora i od tłumacza. Kiedy Autor komentuje własne słowa, nie opatrujemy tego żadną dodatkową informacją. Kiedy jednak robi to tłumacz, zaznaczamy w nawiasie: [przyp. tłumacza]. Wyjątek stanowią te miejsca, gdzie przypis Autora występuje w bezpośrednim sąsiedztwie przypisu tłumacza - wówczas oba są odpowiednio oznaczone. Na wyraźną prośbę Autora, tłumacz otrzymał tu dużo większą, niż to jest ogólnie przyjęte, swobodę działania. I w y p o w i e d z i. W konsekwencji nie wszystkie jego przypisy ograniczają się do spraw dotyczących przekładu. Mówiąc krótko, czasami tłumacz się wymądrza. W tej sytuacji Wydawcy pozostaje tylko przytoczyć aforyzm Stanisława Jerzego Lecą: Kto się wymądrza, ten się wygłupia. / - / Wydawca [Nota od skan - makera: Ze względu na to, iż e - booki czytane są różnie (w komputerze, na wydrukach, ale też w telefonach komórkowych czy palmtopach) przypisy umieściłem w nawiasach kwadratowych w tekście bezpośrednio w tych miejscach do których się odnoszą. (a teraz tekst, z innego e - booka, który mnie zainspirował do zeskanowania tej książki) Do czytelników: życzę wam wszystkim miłej lektury i wierzę że pod koniec czytania będziecie mieli satysfakcję że zaoszczędziliście 30 zł, jeśli wy ją będziecie mieli to i ja ją będę miał bo właśnie taki miałem cel poświęcając troszeczkę czasu na skanowanie tej książki, chociaż nie mam złudzeń że te następne będą przez to tańsze, wszystkich miłośników darmowych książek z netu zachęcam do zeskanowania przynajmniej jednej ciekawej książki w swoim życiu, człowiek ma z tego prawdziwą satysfakcję, poza tym w pewnym sensie zwraca dług sieci, wzbogacając jej zasoby o jeszcze jedną perełkę.
