7 Galatasaray AŞ - RSC Anderlecht Tuesday 16 September 2014 - 20.45CET (21.45 local time) Match press kit Ali Sami Yen Spor Kompleksi, Istanbul Head coach Galatasaray AŞ: Cesare Prandelli Date of birth: 19 August 1957 Nationality: Italian Playing career: US Cremonese, Atalanta BC, Juventus Coaching career: Atalanta BC, US Lecce, Hellas Verona FC, AC Venezia, Parma FC, AS Roma, ACF Fiorentina, Italy, Galatasaray AŞ • Made his name as a promising coach in the prestigious youth system at Atalanta, the club where he finished his career as a midfielder in 1990, having earlier won three league titles with Juventus (1981, 1982, 1984). His six seasons in Turin also brought the 1983 Coppa Italia, the 1984 European Cup Winners' Cup and the European Champion Clubs' Cup a year later, though he struggled to earn a regular role. • Having impressed at Atalanta, Prandelli accepted the head coach position at Lecce in 1997 but resigned the following January. Then secured promotion to the top flight with both Verona and Venezia before further boosting his burgeoning reputation after moving to Parma in 2002. • In 2004 Prandelli took over at Roma but soon left as wife Manuela – who sadly died in 2007 – fell seriously ill. Went to Fiorentina in 2005, leading them to fourth place in his first term though they were subsequently stripped of their achievement for involvement in Italy's sporting fraud trial. • Prandelli guided the Viola to the 2007/08 UEFA Cup semi-finals and was awarded the 2008 Panchina d'Oro for best coach in Serie A. Steered the Florence outfit into the UEFA Champions League group stage in 2008/09 and the round of 16 a year later, before succeeding Marcello Lippi as Italy coach. • Took the Azzurri to the final of UEFA EURO 2012, where they lost 4-0 to Spain. Guided them to the 2014 FIFA World Cup but tendered his resignation after group stage elimination in Brazil, and subsequently succeeded fellow Italian Roberto Mancini at Galatasaray. RSC Anderlecht: Besnik Hasi Date of birth: 29 December 1971 Nationality: Albanian Playing career: Liria Prizren, NK Zagreb, FK Dinamo Pančevo (loan), KF Prishtina (loan), NK Samobor (loan), KRC Genk, TSV 1860 München (loan), RSC Anderlecht, KSC Lokeren OV, KSV Cercle Brugge Coaching career: RSC Anderlecht • A defensive midfielder, Hasi represented a number of clubs in the former Yugoslavia before gaining his first taste of Belgian football by moving to Genk in 1994. • After a loan spell at 1860 München in the 1997/98 season, Hasi returned to Genk, winning the Eerste Klasse title in 1999 and the in 2000, scoring in the final against R. Standard de Liège. • Made his debut for Albania on 15 November 2000 against Malta and registered the first of his two international goals three years later during a UEFA EURO 2004 qualifier at home to Georgia. • Began his association with Anderlecht in 2000 and helped the Brussels club to the championship in 2001 and 2004. After leaving for Lokeren in 2006, he finished his playing career two years later at Cercle Brugge. • Returned to Anderlecht the same year when he became assistant coach to Ariël Jacobs. In March 2014 he replaced John van den Brom, Jacobs's successor, as head coach and led the club to their 33rd league title, overturning the five-point gap that existed between the Mauves et Blanc and leaders Standard at the beginning of the championship play-offs.
