Average groundwater level in the District during OCTOBER 2020 is 3.46 meters below ground level (m bgl) and it varies from 0.02 m bgl(shallowest water level is recorded in piezometer at Thurkadinne Village of Kodair Mandal to 15.97 m bgl (deepest water level is recorded in piezometer at Mannanoor Village of Amrabad Mandal). An average net annual rise in Groundwater level of 6.28 m is observed during OCTOBER 2020 (3.46 m bgl) as compared to OCTOBER 2019 (9.74 m bgl) and the rise is observed in all mandals except in Pentlavelly Mandal. A minimum rise of 0.41 m is observed in Kodair Mandal and maximum rise of 27.29 m in Veldanda Mandal. The rise (compared to decadal Average of OCTOBER (2010-2019)) > 2 m in 31 Piezometers observed in all Mandals. During OCTOBER-2020 as compared to OCTOBER-2019 there is an increase in area of Shallow water level (<5m) by~2289 km2 (~36%). Estimated dynamic change in groundwater storage during the season (up to October 2020) is at 32 TMC in comparison with May-20 water levels. The near utilization of surface water resources has made the public and Government to look towards groundwater resources to supplement the water supply. The ever- increasing demand has resulted in the greater dependence on groundwater and consequently resulting in depletion of groundwater resources in many parts of the country. In the era of climate change, groundwater may act as a buffering resource in the time of drought and it needs to be managed more intensively to enhance its sustainability. The change in groundwater extraction and rainfall pattern necessitate periodic revision of groundwater resources assessment. The report 'National Compilation on Dynamic Groundwater Resources of India, 2017' is a compilation of State-wise assessment carried out jointly by CGWB and State Groundwater Departments at periodical intervals under the supervision of State level Committee of the respective States/UTs and under overall guidance of Central Level Expert Group. The groundwater resources of India are assessed following Groundwater Estimation Methodology, 2015, which takes care of all the relevant parameters contributing to the net annual ground water recharge and extractions for various uses.

Mi Aurobind© M-ar|, New I elki-ll@fl6 PREFACE The agenda for education incorporated in Vision 2020 document clearly states that the primary goal of the state will be to increase the overall literacy levels from 44% (now 61%) to 95%. The proposed 93rd Constitutional Amendment, to make education a FUNDAMENT/AL RIGHT has brought the focus on to “Free and Compulsory Elementary Education". Several programmes are being implemented to convert this vision into a reality. Micro level plans are being prepared with district, as unit of planning. The need for efficient flow of information right from school/habitation level is vital in micro level planning. The effort for Universalization of Elementary Education will require not only district/mandal level data but also habitation level data. I t is necessary to prepare habitation level plans and registers on all the key indicators, some of which are incorporated in this publication. Information on important parameters like educational institutions, enrolment, teachers. Special Schools and Teacher Education Institutions are furnished in this publication. Key education indicators like gross enrolment ratios, dropout rates, teacher - pupil ratios and performance in 5.5.C Examination are also included, which will enable the planners to know the eff iciency of the system well as wastage. The mandal-wise database is created in Oracle and a text file of the documents is provided in a floppy.
