The list is divided into five primary sections, one listing the brothers' work together in their Love and Rockets series, one for each of the three brothers' solo publications (some of which includes reprinted material originally appearing in Love and Rockets), and a final section on secondary critical texts. Regarding the latter, there is a notable dearth of scholarship devoted to the Hernandez's work, either together or solo, and by far the most prevalent secondary materials available are interviews. While many of the most significant or substantive interviews are cited in the bibliography, not all published interviews with the brothers, especially those conducted with a single brother, are represented. Listings of reprint collections, such as the "Complete Love and Rockets" books or the more recent "Love and Rockets Library" volumes, are accompanied by a description of the originally published content or where it appeared in a previous collection. 2 Since Fantagraphics has exhaustively collected Love and Rockets, and in multiple series, only their collected editions are listed in this bibliography, and not reprints from other publishers, such as the various collections Titan Books published between 1987 and 1989. Collections or anthologies in which one of the Hernandez brothers appears occasionally, but not consistently—e.g., Real Girl, Anything Goes!, Zero Zero, Goody Good Comics, and Simpson's Treehouse of Horror—are not listed in this bibliography. For matters of ease and condensation when listing reprinted material, especially regarding the first standardized collections, "LR I" refers to the first volume of the comic magazine (1982-1996), "LR II" indicates to second volume of the comic (2001-2007), and "LR NS" refers to the most recent graphic-novel version of the series, Love and Rockets: New Stories (2008-present). With the exception of the "Secondary Material" section, all sources are listed in order of publication date. Love and Rockets 3 Beginning with the 1981 debut of Love and Rockets in self-published form, Love and Rockets has been published in three separate series: the first an oversized comic magazine, the second in standard comic- book size, and the last in graphic-novel form and published annually. In terms of the collections, Love and Rockets has been collected and repackaged in a number of different ways, but there have been three primary and standardized formats. The first collections were published under the "Complete Love and Rockets" moniker, more comprehensive volumes have appeared in large omnibus editions (with each comprising several of the earlier "Complete Love and Rockets" volumes), and the latest collections were published as the "Love and Rockets Library" editions.
