NetObjects, Inc. today announced that Novell, Inc. has made an equity investment in NetObjects, Inc. The investment is part of Novell's Internet Equity Fund venture designed to invest in companies whose products exploit its Netware 5 network server and Novell Directory Service. Novell joins International Business Machines (NYSE: IBM) as a major corporate investor in NetObjects. "We are looking forward to working with Novell to further our common goal to serve the needs of businesses creating compelling Web sites using the Netware Server Platform," said Samir Arora, CEO and founder of NetObjects. In conjunction with Novell's investment, Novell executive Christopher Stone will participate in NetObjects Board of Directors meetings as an observer. "Novell brings a welcome perspective to our Board of Directors. We are honoured to have the support of such an important player in business and Internet infrastructure," added Arora. Separately, Novell and NetObjects today announced an agreement that includes the licensing of NetObjects Fusion, for bundling and shipment with the Novell Netware for Small Business 4.2 product.
