Pre-Health Sciences Pathways to Certificates and Diplomas Program (Starting September 13, 2021) Application Deadline: 08/20/2021 by 4:00 PM YOUR PATH. OUR WAYS. AETS, in partnership with Confederation College, is offering a 22-week condensed Pre-Health Sciences Pathways to Certificates and Diplomas Program staring September 13, 2021. The 2-week Life Skills component will be completed in person (as allowed), followed by 20-weeks of virtual training with Confederation College. The Pathways to Certificates and Diplomas program is for students who want to go to College Health programs such as Practical Nursing, Paramedic and Dental Hygiene. Topics covered include Pre-Health Math, Health Care in Canada, Chemistry, Introductory Biology, and Communications for Health Professionals. Successful completion of CS050 College Writing, CS217 Communication for Health Professionals and 1 General Elective, will support exemption of these courses in Practical Nursing or other Health fields of study at Confederation College. Program Requirements: • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent) with courses from the College (C), University (U), University/College (U/C), or Open (O) preparation levels with Grade 12 English (C/U) level • Or successful completion of the Mature Student Assessment • Or successful completion of the General Education Development Test (GED) • Or appropriate credit from the Academic and Career Entrance Program (ACE) Program Consists of: • 2 weeks Life Skills • 20 weeks of classes AETS delivers employment and training programs & services to the following 9 First Nation Communities: Animbiigoo Zaagi’igan Anishinaabek, Biigtigong Nishnaabeg, Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek, Biinjitwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek, Kiashke Zaaging An- ishinaabek, Michipicoten First Nation, Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg, Pays Plat First Nation, Red Rock Indian Band preference given to AETS 9 FN Communities participants Program Includes: • CS 050—College Writing • PH 246—Pre-Health Intro. Biology II • MA 021—Pre-Health Mathematics I • PH 248—Chemistry II • PH 145—Intro to Health Care in Canada • PH 249—Human Biology • PH 147—Pre-Health Intro. Biology I • CS 217—Communications for the Health Professional • PH 148 Chemistry I • GE 113—Building Skills for Success 15 Seats • MA 216—Pre-Health Mathematics II Available!
