TV LAND’S HIGHEST-RATED , “HOT IN ,” STARTS PRODUCTION ON 20 NEW EPISODES

#1 Sitcom on Cable Premieres January 19, 2011 at 10:00pm ET/PT

Season One Will Be Available As A Two-Disc DVD Set On January 11

Los Angeles, CA, November 2, 2010 – TV Land announced today that production has started on cable’s highest-rated sitcom, “Hot in Cleveland.” The series, which garnered unprecedented ratings not only for the network but across cable, started production on Monday, November 1 and will return to the air with 20 fresh episodes starting Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. “Hot in Cleveland” stars acclaimed actresses (“One Day at a Time”), (“”), (“Just Shoot Me”) and recent Emmy® Award-winner, (“”). The sitcom is the highest-rated and most-watched series in the history of the network and during its first season, it out-delivered big cable hits like “Mad Men,” “Real Housewives of New Jersey,” “,” “” and more.

Season two picks up right where season one left off with Melanie, Joy and Victoria (Bertinelli, Leeves and Malick) trying to desperately “free Elka” (White) who was arrested after a stash of valuable jewels and goods - fenced by her mob-employed deceased husband - was found in her storm cellar.

“We can’t wait to get started on creating 20 more hilarious episodes of this global sensation,” stated Larry W. Jones, president of TV Land. “We have amazing storylines, twists and turns in store for our growing number of fans of the series.”

Season one will be available on DVD on January 11, just in time to relive all ten hilarious episodes from the first season before the second season kicks off. The two-disc set is loaded with uproarious bonus material including: the original full-length , bloopers, wardrobe featurette, we love our age featurette, a set tour, Victoria’s (Malick) full-length Japanese “Lady Pants” commercial and more. The “Hot In Cleveland” Season One DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $26.99.

Earlier this year, the show was distributed by in Australia, Canada, Germany, Turkey and the UK among others.

Filmed in front of a live studio audience, “Hot in Cleveland” is executive produced by Emmy Award-winner and Todd Milliner of Hazy Mills Productions and is helmed by Emmy® Award-winning Suzanne Martin (“Frasier,” “Ellen”) serving as executive producer, show runner and writer.

“Hot in Cleveland” revolves around three fabulous best friends from LA – novelist Melanie Moretti (Valerie Bertinelli), eye-brow archer to the stars Joy Scroggs (Jane Leeves) and former soap star Victoria Chase (Wendie Malick) – who find their lives changed forever when their plane, headed for Paris, makes an unexpected landing. When the friends discover that life is better for them and that they are hot in Cleveland, they decide to stay. Starting over together, they rent a house that happens to come with a very opinionated caretaker (Betty White).
