E-mail: [email protected] Underground resources play an extremely important and central role in the development of the city structure of Helsinki and the adjoining areas, helping to create a more unified and eco-efficient structure. Underground planning enhances the overall economy efficiency of facilities located underground and boosts the safety of these facilities and their use. Since the 1960s, the City of Helsinki has been adept at widely utilizing the opportunities for underground construction. More than 400 premises and over 200 km of technical maintenance tunnels have already been built underground. Demand for underground space in the central city area has grown rapidly since the turn of the 21st century and at the same time the need to control construction work has increased substantially. The main focus of this paper is on sustainability issues related to urban underground space use, including contribution to an environmentally sustainable and aesthetically acceptable landscape, anticipated structural longevity, and maintaining the opportunity for urban development by future generations. The Underground Master Plan of Helsinki reserves designated space for public and private utilities in various underground areas of bedrock over the long term. The Master Plan also provides the framework for managing and controlling the city’s underground construction work, and allows suitable locations to be allocated for underground facilities. When selecting future underground resources, the survey for the Helsinki Underground Master Plan took into account their accessibility; the present and planned ground-level uses of these areas; traffic connections; land ownership; and possible recreational, landscape and environmental protection values.

To this end, a historical study and analysis of scientific literature on the development of navigation in the central and eastern regions of the Ukrainian lands, as well as in Galicia, was conducted. It was established that during the period of Galicia being found in the II Rzecz Pospolita (20–30th years of the 20th century) among Ukrainians there was a spread only on volleyball and football. Track and field athletics, skiing, but also swimming. The first swimming competitions in Galicia took place in June 1923 in Lviv on a natural reservoir. Both during the first and subsequent swimmings (R. Shukhevych, O. Priphan, O. Dutkevich, Valko, O. Dzjaba) competed in all kinds of swimming (free style, bracelet, butterfly, relay swimming) and showed sports The results of which were at the level with athletes of the Ukrainian people's republic. But despite visual and material abundance, Uutinen has always approached her themes and subjects with moderation - thematically her works do not underline things nor do they give the viewer ready-made interpretations. Uutinen says that in the early stages of her career she explicitly tried to find a material that would in a way depict itself and be self-reflective. Through an emphasis on the construction of the work and its materiality, Uutinen’s art approaches what underlies it in our present age. Each brushstroke or mark always means something - there is no such thing as a pure sign. Marianna Uutinen’s works also operate on this principle, as a social sign of surrounding reality.
