A-Story-To-Tell.Pdf VVV XIV The Year of Grace The Year of Faith Year of Grace will be completed in the Philippines as we reflect on the graces I experienced in solidarity with the Morales Family guided by Rafael and Natalia Maria Lourdes whose devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe inspired them to have a grotto built and blessed on a February 11 Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes birthday of Natalia Maria Lourdes. When Natalia Maria Lourdes suffered a stroke leading to coma for the past 5 years, the Morales Family Grotto of Our Lady of Guadalupe remains to be my hope for the healing of Natalia Maria Lourdes – since this Morales Family Lady of Guadalupe Grotto inspired me to go to Iloilo to look for a humble possibly unknown sculptor who will do the 3 ft. rock image of the Interfaith Pamathalaan Pilgrimage Mother, based on the Virgin of the Globe Virgin Most Powerful I received through the intervention of St. Therese of the Child Jesus from Filipino American families in USA during my USA Europe Pilgrimage for the Filipino Earth Charter Pamathalaan Dambana ng Bayan. As Providence would have it, Jaro, Iloilo Archbishop Angel Lagdameo became my co-passenger in the plane I boarded for Iloilo to fetch the 3 ft. rock image of the Interfaith Pamathalaan Pilgrimage Mother done by the humble folk sculptor Peter Marañon. Hence, Archbishop Angel Lagdameo as president of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines blessed the Iloilo Pamathalaan Blessed Mother. The Iloilo Interfaith Pamathalaan Pilgrimage Mother becomes the Visayan contribution to complete the Luzon Civil Ser- vice Commission Montejo Pamathalaan Park and the Mindanao Davao City Magsaysay Park Pamatha- laan Marker done by National Artist Napoleon V. Abueva. XIII The Year of Faith The April 2, 2012 UP DENR Holy Week Pilgrimage to bring about the healing of wounds incurred by history proved to be an experience of grace when Congress Deputy Secretary General Grace Andres who is also Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. Chief of Staff offered to University of the Philippines President Alfredo E. Pascual the sacred soil of Reconciliation and Unity at the Barasoain Church – seat of the Malolos Congress. The Pa- troness of the Barasoain Church is the prophetic Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City happens to honor and nurture Dr. Jose Rizal as Father of the Nation, Supremo Andres Bonifacio as the Father of the Revolution, and President Emilio Aguinaldo as the Father of the Philippine Republic. Through the UP Diliman structures establishing the moral, sacred foundation of our Philippine Republic – the vision is to transform the University of the Philippines as a pilgrimage heri- tage site for Pamathalaan as Leadership by Grace, Citizenship by Grace. XII The University of the Philippines Marker At the historic Barasoain Church The University of the Philippines Marker at the historic Barasoain Church - seat of the Malolos Congress - highlights the prophetic role of the University of the Philippines in recovering the moral sacred foundations of Nationhood, of Civilization - through a Congress and Senate Bill to establish The National Global Rizal Blumentritt Pamathalaan Academy. XI The Rizal Blumentritt Pamathalaan Academy In Abu Dhabi The concept of National Global Rizal Blumentritt Pamathalaan Academy started in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte by Czech Republic Ambassador to the Philippines Jaroslav Ludva and Litomerice City, Czech Republic Mayor Ladislav Chlupac continues in Abu Dhabi through Czech Republic Ambassador Jaroslav Ludva and Philippine Ambassador Grace Princesa. It is our hope and prayer that the National and Global Rizal Blumentritt Pamathalaan Academy in the Philippine Embassies will be the defining Legacy of Secretary Albert del Rosario in the Department of Foreign Affairs. In this way, he can initiate and institutionalize Spiritual Diplomacy in the United Nations through the Aquino Administration. II St. Pedro Calungsod - The Filipino Youth Martyr to mark The Year of Faith as a Year of Grace On October 21, 2012 the Department of Foreign Affairs led by Secretary Albert del Rosario became God’s instrument of grace to enable me, Atty. Carlos G. Serapio and Leonilo Fajardo to participate in the Canonization Holy Mass for Blessed Pedro Calungsod and 6 others. During this Canonization Holy Mass attended by the Philippine Delegation headed by Vice – President Jejomar Binay – I offered and consecrated the Aquino Administration. In particular, I prayed for the grace to fulfill my August 1, 2011 prophetic dream of H. E. President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III showing him dressed as a priest and distributing Holy Communion. During this Papal Holy Mass, I also turned to H. E. President Corazon C. Aquino – since my August 1, 2011 prophetic dream of her son, President Aquino III happened on the day of her death anniversary in Carmel of St. Joseph in Lucena City, Quezon Province, which nurtured me for 5 years as a Carmelite postulant and novice. Above all, Corazon C. Aquino Presidency was gifted with the grace of the First Filipino Saint Lorenzo Ruiz – when Pope John Paul II canonized Blessed Lorenzo Ruiz in the Philippines. VII St Therese of the Child Jesus, Rizal, and Blumentritt These three world figures - French Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, Philippine National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal, and Czech Republic Patriot Dr. Ferdinand Blumentritt - shape my national and international special events to realize The National Global Rizal Blumentritt Pamathalaan Academy for Spirituality in Education, Governance, Development, and Diplomacy In particular, St. Therese of the Child Jesus - Patroness of the Mission and declared Doctor of the Church by Pope John Paul II in terms of her Little Way or “Spiritual Childhood” called me to my Carmelite vocation and the humble sacred spaces dedicated to Rizal and the Blessed Virgin Mary as the guardians of Pamathalaan as Sacred Prophetic Politics – as documented in my University of the Philippines Ph.D. dissertation published as Pamathalaan: Ang Pagbubukas sa Tipan ng Mahal na Ina or Sacred Prophetic Politics: The Unfolding of the Covenant with the Great Mother. VI The Crown of Grace on the Globe Held by the Interfaith Pamathalaan Pilgrimage Mother Inspired by St. Therese of the Child Jesus - the source of Pamathalaan as Leadership by Grace, Citizenship by Grace and my August 1, 2011 Aquino III prophetic dream, I requested the Crown of Grace during the October 4, 2012 Proclamation in Fuji City, Japan of the Philippines as the 5th Israel or the Holy Land to take care of the World. So on October 22, 2012 - a day after the Canonization of the Filipino Youth Martyr Pedro Calungsod – in the Philippine Embassy to the Vatican – Ambassador Mercedes A. Tuason finally placed the Crown of Grace on the globe held by the Interfaith Pamathalaan Pilgrimage Mother – Patroness of my University of the Philippines Students Campaign for “Banal na Halalan 2013 Para sa Bagong Henerasyon (Sacred Election 2013 For the New Generation) through Pamathalaan as Leadership by Grace, Citizenship by Grace as invoked in the DENR National Prayer. Atty. Carlos G. Serapio assisted the good Ambassador Tuason in the Crowning, since he represents Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa, Jr. who took care of the Interfaith Pamathalaan Pilgrimage Mother in his Extension Office at the Mabini Hall, Malacanang. Leonilo Fajardo represents the youth from the sacred ancestral and heroic spiritual groups believing in the prophetic Pamathalaan. .

History Research, Jan.-Mar., 2015, Vol. 5, No. 1, 28-44 doi: 10.17265/2159-550X/2015.01.003 D DAVID PUBLISHING Decolonization of the Filipino Church after Vatican II Terence J. Fay SJ University of St. Michael’s College, Toronto, Canada The second great paradigm shift in the history of the Catholic Church arrived after Vatican II, which ended the lengthy sway of the Greco-Roman Church and led, as Karl Rahner has written, to “the Church actualizing itself precisely as a world Church.” This statement has enormous consequences for the Catholic Church in the Philippines where Vatican II initiated a major paradigm shift. Vatican II decolonized the Latin Spanish church imposed upon the Philippines in the seventeenth century and transformed it into the Catholic Church of the Philippines, that is to say, transformed it into a church deeply rooted in the Filipino soil, language, and culture. Twenty-nine Filipinos chosen by snowball method of selection were interviewed who reported on how they received the teachings of Vatican II on inculturation and equality and were thus decolonized the Catholic Church. Key Words: decolonization, Filipino, Vatican II, liturgy, interreligious contact The Second Vatican Council from 1962 to 1965 initiated the second major paradigm shift in the Catholic Church. The first major paradigm shift, according to Karl Rahner, was the transition from a Jewish Christian Church after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 C.E. to the initiation of the Greco-Roman Church which flourished for almost 1,900 years in many parts of the world.1 The second great paradigm shift in the history of the Catholic Church arrived after Vatican II, which ended the lengthy sway of the Greco-Roman Church and led, as Rahner wrote, to “the Church actualizing itself precisely as a world Church.”2 This last statement has enormous consequences for the Catholic Church, especially in the Philippines where Vatican II also initiated a major paradigm shift.
