Note: All references to ‘Governing Body’ within the Laws of Cricket shall be replaced by ‘Match Referee’. 07. KFC T20 Big Bash League 07. KFC Cricket Australia shall appoint a Match Referee who may meet with the umpires and captains prior to the commencement of the match to secure uniform interpretation of these playing conditions (other than playing condition 21.11 (“Venue”)) and to adjudicate, if necessary, should there be any dispute. 1. LAW 1 – THE PLAYERS Law 1.1 - Number of players Law 1.1 shall apply. Law 1.2 – Nomination of Players Law 1.2 shall be replaced by the following: Each captain shall nominate his players in writing to one of the umpires before the toss. No player may be changed after the nomination without the consent of the opposing captain. The players nominated shall include the selected emergency fieldsman (12th man) who may act as a substitute on the field. However, in accordance with Law 2.2 any player may act as a substitute. The 12th man, or any other emergency fieldsman, must wear a distinguishing top from the players on the field when walking inside the fence but outside the boundary rope. Law 1.3 - Captain The following shall apply in addition to Law 1.3(a): The deputy must be one of the nominated players. 4 Playing Handbook | 2015-16 LAW 2 - SUBSTITUTES AND RUNNERS, BATSMAN OR FIELDER LEAVING THE FIELD, BATSMAN RETIRING, BATSMAN COMMENCING T20 Big Bash League 07. KFC INNINGS Law 2.1(a)(ii). A runner for a player when batting is not permitted. Law 2.1(b) shall apply except that the umpire has no discretion to allow a runner for any situation. Law 2.5 - Fielder absent or leaving the field Law 2.5 shall be replaced by the following: If a fielder fails to take the field with his side at the start of the match or at any later time, or leaves the field during a session of play: The umpire shall be informed of the reason for his absence. He shall not thereafter come on to the field during a session of play without the consent of the umpire. (see Law 2.6 as modified). The umpire shall give such consent as soon as practicable. If the player is absent from the field for longer than 8 minutes: The player shall not be permitted to bowl in that innings after his return until he has been on the field for at least that length of playing time for which he was absent. The player shall not be permitted to bat unless or until, in the aggregate, he has returned to the field and/or his side’s innings has been in progress for at least that length of playing time for which he has been absent or, if earlier, when his side has lost five wickets. The restrictions in (c)(i)-(ii) above shall not apply if the player has suffered an external blow (as opposed to an internal injury such as a pulled muscle) whilst participating earlier in the match and consequently been forced to leave the field. Nor shall it apply if the player has been absent for very exceptional and wholly acceptable reasons (other than injury or illness). In the event of a fieldsman already being off the field at the commencement of an interruption in play through ground, weather or light conditions or for other exceptional circumstances, he shall be allowed to count any such stoppage time as playing time, provided that he personally informs the umpires when he is fit enough to take the field had play been in progress. Concussion or Head Trauma A new Law 2.11 is included as follows: If concussion of a player or umpire is suspected by an umpire, team-mate, team support staff or qualified medical staff member or contractor (either immediately after a head/neck trauma or at any later time during play), play shall cease immediately and the most suitably qualified medical practitioner available can enter the field of play to conduct an initial assessment of the player or umpire for the presence of concussion symptoms and signs. If the medical practitioner determines that concussion is established or that a full assessment is required: that medical practitioner (in his/her absolute discretion) may direct the player or umpire to leave the field of play; and play must not resume until that player or umpire has completely left the field of play. A maximum of 5 minutes will be allowed for the initial assessment on the field of play. For clarity: A batsman instructed to leave the field of play following an initial assessment is deemed to have retired pursuant to Law 2.9(a) and can, if no concussion has been diagnosed after a full assessment, return to play pursuant to Law 2.9(c), (d) or (e).

Teams may give names of maximum 18 players. - The tournament will consist of 12 teams in total, divided in 2 groups with each team playing 5 group matches. - At the end of the league matches, top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. - Points shall be awarded on the following system: win/walkover (3pts), tie/washout (1pt), lost (0pts). - In case the points are equal, the team with better net run rate (NRR) will qualify for the semi- finals (the formula is given below). - The reporting time for the morning match will be 9:00am sharp (toss at 9:15am and match would start at 9:30am) and for the afternoon match the reporting time will be 1:00pm sharp (toss at 1:15pm and match would start at 1:30pm). - Walkover will be awarded in the event if a team (minimum of 7 players) fails to appear within 30 minutes of the scheduled time of the allotted time. - In the case of a tie in a knockout match, the result will be decided by a super-over. - The team's captain will have the responsibility of maintaining discipline and healthy atmosphere during the matches, any grievances should be brought to committee's notice by the captain only.

    DENNIS AMISS Dennis played in 50 Tests averaging over 46 scoring 11 centuries with 262* being his highest score. In ODI’s he averaged 47 with 137 his top score. In all First Class cricket he scored over 43000 runs at an average of 43 and is on the elite list of players who have scored a century of 100’s. He also took 18 wickets. Dennis played his first game for Warwickshire in July, 1960 against Surrey at the Oval. He did not bat. In fact he watched Horner and Ibadulla share an unbroken partnership of 377 for the first wicket. In the next few years he learnt a lot about the game from Tiger Smith, Tom Dollery, and Derief Taylor, whose work as a coach has gained him a legendary reputation at Edgbaston. From 1966 he became an established player in the number three position, and was easily top of the Warwickshire averages, at 54.78 During that season Amiss played in three Test matches but success eluded him. The Australians came over in 1968, and he played in the first Test at Old Trafford. He had an unhappy game, and bagged a pair The disaster at Old Trafford may well have affected his confidence. The period from 1969 until mid-June 1972 was one of comparatively modest achievement. The summer of 1972 was a turning point for Dennis. Alan Smith, the Warwickshire captain, had six contenders for the five places available for specialist batsmen. Amiss, unable to strike form in the early weeks of the season, had to be left out of the side.

The rules listed below represent the most important aspects of the game with which to be familiar. University Recreation follows all rules and guidelines stated by the World Indoor Cricket Federation not stated below. Rule 1: The Pitch A. Indoor Cricket will be played on a basketball court. B. The pitch is the 10-yard-long strip between wickets. Lines will be painted on the pitch to denote specific areas of play (creases, wide ball, no ball lines). Refer to Figure 1 for specific dimensions. Figure 1. Cricket pitch dimensions 16” C. Boundaries will be denoted by the supervisor on site and agreed upon by both captains prior to the beginning of the match. D. The exclusion zone is an arc around the batting crease. No players are allowed in the exclusion zone until the batsman hits the ball or passes through the wickets. If a player enters the exclusion zone, a no ball will be called. Rule 2: Equipment A. Each batsman on the pitch must use a cricket bat provided by the team or Intramural Sports. B. Cricket balls will be provided by Intramural Sports. The umpires will evaluate the condition of the balls prior to the start of each match. These balls must be used for all Intramural Sport Tape Ball Cricket matches. C. Intramural Sports will provide (2) wickets, each consisting of three stumps and two bails to be used in every Intramural Sport Tape Ball Cricket match.

    T20 Playing Conditions and Regulations 2018 1 TWENTY20 Cup Playing Conditions 1.1 The competition shall be called the Warwickshire Cricket League’s Twenty 20 Cup and shall be open to all League Clubs, who may enter one team each irrespective of the number of sides that the Club enters throughout the League’s divisions. The competition will be played in 2 bands, the first to cover Premier Division 1 and Division 2 and Division 3 Clubs and the second to cover all other Clubs. Entries are optional and must be received by the League before 1st April. 1.2 Only registered Club players as shown on the Play Cricket registration system shall be eligible to participate in the competition, and no player shall be eligible to play for more than one Club in any one season. The penalty for fielding an unregistered player will be expulsion from the competition with the match awarded to the opposing Club, with further possible sanction in line with standard playing regulation 2.12. 1.2.1 To play in the competition, a player should be registered before the first round of the competition. Normal transfers will be considered, but players who have not played at least 4 club games before the regional finals cannot be selected for rounds beyond this stage of the competition. The competition committee will consider exceptions by appeal. The decision of the competition committee will be final. 1.3 A full draw shall be made prior to the start of the season and will, if the League so determines, be regionalised into zones for each competition.

    Year 5 Cricket Lesson 4 – Batting 1 Learning objective: - to use the proper grip and stance when batting - to hit the ball cleanly from a tee and a bowled delivery - to run between the wickets with clear communication (all) will be able to use the proper batting grip and stance and run between wickets (most) will be able to strike the ball cleanly with some consistency (some) will be able to strike the ball cleanly consistently and move into the line of the ball Lesson Structure Introduction/ warm-up (Connection and Activation) With timings Differentiation (Extension/Support) Cricket Netball – Set up 3 equal areas, each with a set of cricket stumps at either end. 10 mins Extend: ​ Divide the class into 6 teams, 2 teams per area. In teams, children must throw and catch the - HA groups have 3 seconds to pass the ball or throw at the ball and try to throw the ball to hit the stumps. 1 point is scored every time the stumps are stumps hit. - If the ball is dropped, possession goes to the other team Support: Arrange teams based on ability. - LA groups can roll/bounce the ball to each other - If the ball is dropped, possession stays with the same team Main (Development/ Application) With timings Differentiation (Extension/Support) Activity 1: Clean striking Extend: Create groups of 3 or 4 with one bat, one batting tee, one windball/tennis ball per group.
