Malone Youth Motivation Task Force Conference About Our Speaker: Ms. Tatyana Ali Special Assembly Program Tatyana Ali is a Broadway-trained actress, singer, producer, activist and graduate of Harvard University. Known to millions worldwide from her role as “Ashley Banks” on the iconic Tuesday, April 16, 2013 • 11 a.m. • C.W. Pettigrew Center Auditorium television series “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” Ali can soon be seen as sharp-witted personal assistant “Maya” in the highly anticipated BET comedy “Second Generation Wayans” about the young members of the famous Hollywood family. She also continues her recurring role as “Roxanne” on the long-running CBS “The Young and the Restless.”

She and sister Anastasia Ali helm HazraH Entertainment, a production company dedicated Presiding to creating quality content for underserved communities. The company was a production Miss Chelsea Murray partner on the Martin Lawrence executive-produced “Love That Girl!,” the first original Miss Fort Valley State University 2012-2013 scripted program on the TV One Network, and recently produced the acclaimed web series Prelude...... Wildcat Force “Buppies” for BET.com.

The three-time NAACP Image Award winner, named one of most beautiful women in the Invocation ...... Reverend Dennis Harden world by People magazine in 2011, has appeared in numerous films including Kiss the Girls, New Hope Baptist Church, Perry, GA Jawbreaker, The Brothers, Glory Road, Mother and Child, and the upcoming independent film Home Again. Greetings...... Dr. Larry E. Rivers, President As a recording artist, she holds a gold record from her 1998 debut album Kiss the Sky, which included the hit singles Fort Valley State University “Daydreamin’” and “Boy You Knock Me Out.” The success of the album allowed her the opportunity to join both NSYNC and The Backstreet Boys on their world tours. In 1999, her recording of “Precious Wings” for The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland soundtrack won a Grammy award for “Best Musical Album for Children.” Dr. Melody Carter Vice President, External Affairs, Fort Valley State University Ali is a fierce advocate for youth and education. During the 2008 presidential campaign, she acted as a surrogate for the Obama for America campaign, traveling to locations across the United States and speaking to communities about the importance of Mr. Bruce Mackey, Principal voting—a role that she has taken on again for the 2012 campaign. She has been a spokesperson for the Millennium Momentum Foundation and is actively involved in the Step Up Women’s Network, two organizations dedicated to educating and Peach County High School, Fort Valley, GA professionally developing young people for leadership roles that will impact their communities. Recently, as the host of the United Negro College Fund’s “Empower Me” Tour, she has traveled the country inspiring students to take control of their Musical Presentation...... Ralph departed this life on April 26, 1988. Introduction of Speaker ...... Ms. Christina Perry First Attendant to Miss FVSU 2012-2013 Enjoying a long career in higher education, Mr. Malone was coach and registrar at Howard Junior College in Ocala, Florida before serving as director of career placement (1965-1988). Ms. Tatyana Ali He worked hard to develop a first class Career Planning and Placement Center, enabling Actress, Singer, Producer and Activist graduates and students to seek and get jobs and internships in traditional and non-traditional sectors. Simmons In 1967, he sponsored the first Youth Motivation Task Force at Fort Valley State College with Director, Career & Alumni Services the assistance of the National Urban League. He initiated the Cooperative Education Program with the assistance of the Title III Program, thereby enabling our students to gain experience on the job while studying for the degree and guaranteeing a job upon graduation. Ms. Clara Braswell Mr. Malone served as president of the National Career Planning and Placement Association and worked untiringly as a member Senior Director, Career & Alumni Services of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. as the secretary; local chairman of the National Heart Fund; the Thomas Public Library Board of Peach County; the Fort Valley State College Foundation secretary; and development officer.
