Natixis boosts its Corporate & telecom team with senior appointments

Natixis announces three appointments to newly-created roles in its Corporate & Investment Banking global telecom team as it continues to strengthen its setup in line with its ambition to be a global leader in the sector.

Maxime Perrin and Robert Wallin have both been appointed as Managing Directors, Telecom Industry Group worldwide. Based in , they report to Anne-Christine Champion, Global Head of Real Assets, Corporate & Investment Banking.

Maxime joined Natixis in August from ING Wholesale Banking where he headed M&A activity. Robert took up his current role in September, having spent the previous six months in Natixis’ Hong Kong office as Managing Director, Telecom Industry Group, Asia Pacific. He joined Natixis from Huawei Technologies where he was an Executive Director in the Customer Financing Solutions Department.

Sander Mutsaers has been appointed Managing Director, Telecom Industry Group, Asia Pacific. He joined Natixis in mid-October from ING N.V., Singapore where he was Director, Telecom, Media & Technology (TMT), Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, he reports to Pin Chua, Senior Country Manager Singapore and Head of South East & South Asia, Corporate & Investment Banking, and to Bruno Le Saint, Head of Banking, Asia Pacific.

In addition to these appointments, Santhosh Rao continues to cover the Americas region as Managing Director, Telecom Industry Group, Americas. Based in New York, he reports to Nasir Khan, Head of Infrastructure, Americas.

Biographies

Maxime Perrin has a well-established TMT (Telecommunications, Media & Technology) career. He began his career in 1998 at Devoteam, a specialist consultancy focusing on telecom and innovative technologies. In 2006, he joined London-based M&A firm Arma Partners, specializing in advising companies in the TMT sector. He moved to BNP Paribas Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) in 2007 where over ten years he held various positions within the Corporate Finance Department focusing on the TMT sector, and advised on several large M&A transactions, in particular relating to telecom infrastructure and towers. He joined ING Wholesale Banking France in 2018 as Head of Corporate Finance, France.

Robert Wallin has an extensive TMT career spanning a number of global roles. He began his career in 1983 with Ericsson, first as Finance Director, Middle East then, from 1989, as Manager Export & Project Finance, based in Sweden. He moved to Skanska AB in 1994 as Senior Manager Project Finance and then to Greenwich NatWest in 1997 as Associate Director, TMT Structured Finance. In 1999 he joined Credit Lyonnais as Senior Vice President and Co-Head of Structured Finance TMT in Paris. In 2004, following the merger between Credit Lyonnais and Credit Agricole, he assumed responsibility for the Global TMT Structured Finance activities for Calyon (Credit Agricole CIB) as Managing Director. Robert moved to ING Bank as Managing Director and Global Head of TMT Structured Finance, and from 2008 as a member of the Structured Finance Management Team. In 2011, he moved to Huawei Technologies, based in Hong Kong, as an Executive Director in the Customer Financing Solutions Department until he joined Natixis in March 2019 as Managing Director, Telecom Industry Group, Asia Pacific.

Sander Mustsaers began his career in 1999 at as Relationship Manager for small and medium-sized enterprises. In 2002 he was appointed Vice President, Global Telecom, Media & Internet Financing, Europe, then Associate Director, Global Telecom, Media and Internet Financing, Asia-Pacific in 2006, before becoming Project Manager, Regional Management Office, Asia in 2009. He joined ING Bank N.V in 2010 as Director, Telecom, Media & Technology (TMT), Asia-Pacific.
