State Testing Begins In April State testing will take place for St. Bernard Parish stu- dents throughout the months of April and May. For stu- dents in 3rd and 4th grade, testing will take place April 29-May 3, 2019. Fifth through eighth grade students will be taking the English Language Arts and Mathematics tests April 4-5 and April 8, 2019. The students will be tak- ing the Science and Social Studies tests April 9-11, 2019. Paper-based testing will be given to students in grades 3 and 4. Computer-based testing will be given to grades 5-8. High school students taking Algebra, Geometry, Bi- ology, English II, English III and U.S. History will take an End of Course exam for each of these courses through- out the month of May. Students enrolled in state-approved home-study pro- grams and students currently enrolled in private or pa- rochial schools who plan to enter public schools next year for enrollment in grades 4 or 9 must register for this test.
