Interstate 5 – Pacific Highway – Rose Quarter soil sampling (19T063527) Project Description: This project will conduct soil sampling in the Rose Quarter and Albina area along I-5 including ramps, shoulders and nearby local streets between I-84 and I-405. Traffic Impacts: Daytime restriction to bus-only lane along NE Wheeler Avenue. Bus traffic will be routed around the work zone on July 22 and 23. Daytime restriction of N Williams Avenue travel lane on July 25 and 26. Traffic will be shifted into the bike lanes and bike lanes shifted into parking lanes around the work area. Daytime restriction in the right lane of N Vancouver Ave on July 26 and 29 (no work will be performed on Saturday or Sunday). The right lane will be closed and traffic will be diverted into the left lane around the work zone. Project website: www.i5RoseQuarter.org

Interstate 5 – Pacific Highway – Paving and Auxiliary Lane (18T015010) Project Description: This project will add a southbound auxiliary lane on I-5 from Lower Boones Ferry Road to I-205, add a second lane to the Lower Boones Ferry Road off-ramp from I-5 north, and pave I- 5 from OR 99W to I-205. Traffic Impacts: Nighttime lane and ramp closures in both directions. Periodic shoulder closures. The southbound on- and off-ramps at Lower Boones Ferry (exit 290) will be closed at night between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Shoulder closures. Project website: www.tinyurl.com/I5ODOTProject

Interstate 84 – Banfield Expressway – Regional Connections (17T058969) Project Description: This project is the next phase of ODOT RealTime, a system that provides real- time traffic information on roads to help travelers get where they're going more safely and efficiently. Interstate 84 – Highway – Graham Road (19T005241) Project Description: This project replaces the two I-84 bridges over Graham Road (Exit 17) in Troutdale and widens Graham Road and constructs a sidewalk and bike lane. Traffic Impacts: Nighttime lane closures from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Nighttime single lane closures on I- 84 and daytime and nighttime lane closures on Graham Road. Interstate 84 – Columbia River Highway – Wyeth to Lindsey Creek (17T070456) Project Description: This project is constructing the next phase of the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail. This segment will connect Wyeth Campgrounds to the State Trail at Lindsey Creek. Construction will occur through summer 2019. Traffic Impacts: Single lane closure for eastbound I-84 and shoulder closures from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Interstate 205 – East Portland Freeway – Glenn Jackson Bridge to Johnson Creek Boulevard (17T112220) Project description: This project will pave 9 miles of I-205 between Johnson Creek Boulevard and the Glenn Jackson Bridge, including some ramps, build auxiliary lanes in three locations, install ODOT RealTime electronic signs and make pedestrian improvements at Glisan Street. Traffic impacts: Nighttime I-205 southbound closures at Airport Way week of July 21. Northbound Exit 23B to Killingsworth closed. I-205 southbound closed up to three nights beginning July 21 from midnight to 5 a.m. Traffic continuing southbound will detour onto Airport Way (Exit 24) to get back onto I-205 southbound. Periodic nighttime ramp closures at the northbound Exit 20 toward Washington and Stark Streets, the southbound Washington Street on-ramp, and northbound Exit 23B to Killingsworth Street/U.S. 30 Bypass. 24/7 closure of northbound Exit 23B to Killingsworth Street/U.S. 30 Bypass for two weeks. Periodic daytime single lane closures in both directions on Glisan Street and on Washington and Stark. For more information: www.i205construction.org

Interstate 205 – East Portland Freeway – Northbound Auxiliary Lane at Sunnybrook (19T009611) Project description: ODOT is improving safety and operations on Interstate 205 by building a northbound auxiliary lane between the Oregon 224 (Sunrise Expressway) on-ramp and the Sunnyside Road/Sunnybrook Boulevard interchange exit ramp (Exit 14). Traffic impacts: No traffic impacts. For more information: www.i205construction.org

Interstate 405 – Stadium Freeway – Ramp repairs (19T025461) Project description: ODOT is repairing and replacing a number of freeway joints on the elevated sections of Interstate 405 on either side of the Fremont Bridge and from I-405 north to U.S. 26 west. Major traffic impacts will occur in 2019 and 2020. Traffic impacts: Friday night, July 19, the ramp from U.S. 30 to I-405 northbound will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. No work on Saturday or Sunday. Monday through Friday nights, July 22 to July 26 (the morning of July 27), the ramp from U.S. 30 to I- 405 southbound will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. No work on Saturday or Sunday. Nighttime lane and ramp closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. weekdays Intermittent nighttime ramp closures of the Couch Street and Glisan Street ramps to I-405 north, the N Kerby/N Cook on-ramp to I-405 south and U.S. 30 eastbound to I-405 southbound, Monday through Friday nights. Intermittent nighttime lane closures on I-405 northbound from Couch Street to the Fremont Bridge, I- 405 southbound from the Fremont Bridge to Glisan Street and on the ramp from U.S.30 eastbound to I- 405 northbound and southbound. U.S. 26 – Powell Boulevard – Safety Improvements (18T015197) Project Description: This project will make safety improvements on Powell Boulevard from Southeast 20th to 34th Avenues. Improvements include installing pedestrian activated beacons, new signs improved lighting, and crosswalk and sidewalk improvements. Traffic Impacts: No traffic impacts. U.S. 26 – Powell Boulevard – Outer Powell Safety (19T033601) Project Description: This project will construct roadway improvements on Powell Boulevard from SE 122nd Avenue to SE 136th Avenue to address the high rate of collisions on Outer Powell for the past several years. The purpose of this project is to increase safety for people who walk, drive, take the bus and ride bikes, making Outer Powell a safer place for everyone. Traffic Impacts: Weekday shoulder closures. Watch for crews and equipment. Nighttime single lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday. For more information: www.outerpowellsafety.org

Oregon 8 – Tualatin Valley Highway – Regional Connections (17T063423) Project description: This project is the next phase of ODOT RealTime, a system that provides real- time traffic information on roads to help travelers get where they're going more safely and efficiently. Oregon 35 – Mt. Hood Highway – Safety Improvements at Mt. Hood Meadows (19T054356) Project Description: This Western Federal Lands project is constructing safety improvements with lane widening and dedicated right and left turn lanes accessing the ski area. This project will also construct a box culvert under OR 35. Construction will occur through summer 2019. Traffic Impacts: Single lane closures in both directions of OR 35 24/7 with a temporary traffic signal.

Oregon 35 – Mt. Hood Highway – Rockfall mitigation near Mt. Hood (19T065767) Project Description: This project will remove hazard trees and loose rock and repair existing rockfall fencing in two locations on OR 35, near Mt. Hood Meadows and near Polallie Creek and Cooper Spur Road. Traffic Impacts: Northbound OR 35 lane closures at MP 72.9 near Polallie Creek and Cooper Spur Road. Lane closures weekdays 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Flaggers controlling traffic during northbound OR 35 lane closures. Intermittent short-term lane closures while crews set up worksites.Project website: http://tinyurl.com/OR35Rock2019

Oregon 99E – McLoughlin Boulevard – Tunnel Improvements (19T004331) Project description: This project improves the lighting in the vehicle and pedestrian tunnels on McLoughlin Boulevard near downtown Oregon City. It also installs a new variable message sign on the side of the tunnel to alert northbound drivers of conditions ahead.

Possible nighttime closures on northbound and southbound McLoughlin Blvd Sunday through Thursday. Daytime single lane closures in both directions 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Oregon 99W – Pacific Highway – Access to Transit Tigard Project description: This project will improve safety and access to transportation at three sites on OR 99W in Tigard. Improvements include bus stops, sidewalk infill, enhanced pedestrian and bike crossings, and transit operations improvements. Traffic impacts: Daytime lane closures on SW Commercial Street between Lincoln Ave and Main St beginning Monday, July 22. For more information: http://tinyurl.com/OR99WTransitAccess

Oregon 281 – Tucker Road – County intersection improvements (19T028400) Project description: ODOT and Hood River County are constructing intersection improvements, including widening the roadway at the intersections to better accommodate truck turning movements at two locations in Hood River County: OR 281, also known as Tucker Road, at Guignard Drive and Country Club Road at Barrett Drive. Morrison Bridge – Road and sidewalk closures (Multnomah County) (19T####) Project Description: Multnomah County will close the Morrison Bridge for two upcoming weekends to replace the bridge operation control system. Traffic Impacts: Bridge closed 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 20 and 21, and Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28. During the closure the vehicle lanes, bike lanes and sidewalks will be closed.

Tips for driving safely in work zones An inattentive driver is the most common cause of work zone crashes. Drivers and their passengers — not workers — make up the majority of work zone fatalities.
