Provenance: The Estate of Mr Joseph B. Hay, son of Major-General Arthur K. Hay DSO OBE - 100 years of a military family. Goode, pattern number 9465, 20.5 by 20.5cm, and other 16.5 by 24cm. (2) Estimate: 80 - 120 Fees: Lot 523 An unusual 1930s Japanese ceramic cruet set, in the form of three kangaroos, the two to either side are salt and pepper pots, the central kangaroo a mustard pot, the terminal of the mustard spoon peeking out of a pouch and modelled as the head of a joey, handle formed from kangaroo's tail, on black base, unmarked, 12 by 11cm. Notes: One identical example can be found in the National Museum of Australia, accession no. 1999.0017.0152.001, and a second similar example is held by Western Australia Museum, accession no. H2007.124.1-5. Estimate: 40 - 60 Fees: Lot 524 A group of hand painted pottery, comprising a Poole Pottery ovoid form jug, with three curvilinear bands above foliage body, impressed stamp, 303, 20 by 19cm high, a 1930's Seville Phoenix Art Deco jug, with incised design, 17 by 20.5cm high, and an unmarked vase, with a piped iris design, 9.5 by 18cm.
