ABSTRACT To make it easier and enjoyable to understand the basic concepts of programming language, then it is system applications that combine education and entertainment (edutainment). Edutainment here can be a story telling, simple of 3D animation or interactive game. Alice with 3D-based system has been implemented to understand a new problem, but from this skripsi Alice wish as used as a medium through the environment in the form of a complete UI that resembles the real object. Edutainment applications used in this skripsi is Alice. Alice is basically just a script and a prototype that allows users environtment for virtual world builders, and write a simple program to move the object (for example, animals and vehicles) are already in the program. The main purpose of this skripsi is to create a simple 3D interactive game that will be the object of the cycling around the UI. In this process, an object that already exists in the Alice people cycling is controlled by the keyboard, as well how its camera also follow to make a move. People cycle will encircle the support other objects such as buildings that most of the UI created with 3D modeling software that is recommended by Alice 3D Studio Max. This application is then tested by the user. Things that the test is to be the topic of knowledge of tester about the programming language as used and obtained the average value of 1,73 means a 1-4 scale level introduction to the application that is used is still low. Resulted in general the condition of objects worth an average of 2,9 of the scale 1-4, which means the condition of objects are good. Development of this project in the future get the positive support of all the tester with the average value of 3,2 scale 1-4. Resulted obtained in this program, which has been made to run well and can be a medium of learning cycle at the University of Indonesia to create a virtual reality environment similar to actual conditions.

  • Create Computer Games
==== ==== For A Great Way On How Games Are Played Tips Check This Out www.gamesexamples.com ==== ==== I’ve always loved video games, ever since I first played them on a friend’s computer in the afternoon after elementary school. There’s something almost magical about the fact that we can move images around and interact with virtual worlds, a living fantasy presented for us to interact with however we please. I’ve also always wanted to make games myself but, until recently, didn’t have the technical knowledge to do so. Now, I’m a second year software engineering student, so if I weren’t able to code a game without too many dramas there’d be something drastically wrong. But what about the common person: the person for whom the term ‘memory leak’ conjures up images of their grandfather, ‘pipeline’ is where the water flows, and ‘blitting’ is unheard of? Well, everyone can get in on the game creation process, and you don’t even need to learn ‘real’ programming to do so. So where do games start? With an idea. Games, like all fiction, require an idea to be successful. Sure, in the same way you can just sit down and write a story without foresight, you can jump on in and slap a game together. However, unless you get ridiculously lucky, the best works are usually the ones that have been well thought out beforehand. There are two methods of planning a project.

  • Game Development Projects
Game Development Projects The purpose of the Game Development Projects is to introduce you to modern game development tools, exercise your game design skills, and help you build a portfolio of game development work. Each project has three parts: a proposal, a deliverable, and a post-mortem. Project Types For each assignment, you should choose one from the five kinds of games below. Then choose one or more of the development tools associated with that kind of game. You can choose projects in any order. You may not repeat a project or a tool (even if it is listed for multiple projects). If you wish to make a type of game that is not listed below or use a tool not listed, you must get approval from the instructor before submitting the project proposal. 1. Physical Board or Card Game Tools: Paper, Cardstock, Markers, Game Pawns, Dice, 3D Printing, etc. 2. Adventure Game Tools: Inform, Twine, Adventure Game Studio 3. Puzzle Game Tools: Game Maker Studio, Torque 2D, Unity, HTML 5, Java, Objective C 4. Arcade Game Tools: Game Maker Studio, Torque 2D, Unity, HTML 5, PyGame 5. 3D Action Game Tools: Unity, Unreal Engine, Torque 3D Scope The difficulty of implementing your project determines how innovative it needs to be. The projects above are listed from “requires most innovation” to “requires least innovation.” All projects require some original design on your part. It is expected that a physical game will require the least development effort and should therefore demonstrate that you have put a lot of thought into the design process.

Michael Youngblood Dr. Jamie Payton ii ©2009 Amanda Brook Chaffin ALL RIGHTS RESERVED iii ABSTRACT AMANDA BROOK CHAFFIN. Game2learn: building a compiler into a game engine to increase learning gains in computer science students. (Under the direction of DR. TIFFANY BARNES) Increasingly, games are being developed for use inside the classroom and work environments as a learning tool for students and employees in a variety of disciplines. Since its inception in 2005, the Game2Learn group has been dedicated to the idea that games can be used to teach introductory computer science concepts to introductory students. The games developed by the group have always been driven by the need to increase student motivation and engagement in the computer science class, which is critical to gaining and retaining computer science students. The games built prior to this thesis were all rapid prototype games which, while showing learning gains and improved attitudes toward educational games for computing, did not allow the students to write actual code in the game environment, depending instead of code metaphors such as a magic code fairy that students input for loop numbers into the program (Wu’s Castle), a drag and drop pseudo code interface (Saving Sera), and instruction through dialogue trees (StormHaven 2 and The Tournament).
