THE AGELESS WONDER On Oct. 25 at PIT, Jaromir Jagr played his 1,635th NHL game, tying Scott Stevens for seventh all-time in games played. Tonight, Jagr is expected to pass Stevens in his 1,636th game and claim sole possession of seventh all-time. The 2016 Masterton Trophy recipient is currently only four games away from reaching Dave Andreychuk's games played mark for sixth all-time (1,639). On Oct. 20 vs. WSH, Jagr scored his 750th NHL goal, becoming only the third player in NHL history to ever reach the milestone. Jagr joins Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe as the only other player to score 750 NHL goals. INSHANE IN THE MEMBRANE 27-year old rookie Shane Harper scored his first NHL goal in the second period of Florida's Oct. 22 game vs. COL. Only a period later, the Valencia, CA native notched his second career goal at 5:21 of the third frame. On Oct. 25 at PIT, Harper recorded his first NHL assist, earning his first NHL point streak in the process (two games, 2-1-3). Harper spent the previous seven seasons playing in the AHL and ECHL, becoming the 600th ECHL alum to play an NHL game in his debut on Oct. 13 vs. NJD. Harper is the first Panther this season to record a multi-goal game.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS Roberto Luongo made 25 saves to earn his third win of the season on Oct. 22 vs. COL, placing him only eight wins away from reaching Terry Sawchuk for fifth all-time in career wins (447). After tying Jacques Plante for sixth all-time in career wins (437) on Oct. 13 vs. NJD, Luongo followed things up by passing Plante with a 21-save victory on Oct. 15 vs. DET to earn his 438th career win and claim sole possession of sixth all-time. In 2015-16, Gallant led the Panthers to a franchise record 47 wins and 103 points securing an Atlantic Division title and the franchise’s first playoff berth since 2011-12. Under Gallant, Florida won a franchise-best 12 consecutive games from Dec. 15, 2015 - Jan. 10, 2016. He finished the season as a nominee for the 2016 Jack Adams Award.

Gallant previously served as head coach of Columbus (2003-2004 & 2005-2007) and served as an assistant coach with Montreal (2012-14), the New York Islanders (2007-09) and Columbus (2000-03).
