Beat: Sports 2016 Mexican Grand Prix Mexico City Mexico City, 31.10.2016, 01:25 Time USPA NEWS - Silver Arrows flying high at the #F1ESTA! - Lewis today took his 51st career victory ““ his first at the AUTÓDROMO HERMANOS RODRÃGUEZ and 8th of the 2016 season so far. With that result, Lewis draws level with Alain Prost in joint second place on the list of all-time Formula One Grand Prix winners. Lewis Hamilton - This weekend I´ve had really good pace. The car felt really strong from start to finish ““ night and day compared to last year. I had a good start ““ but it´s such a long way down to Turn One that everyone just got the tow on me. The right front brake disc had glazed on the formation lap and I couldn´t un-glaze it. I thought it might be okay ““ but when I hit the brakes it just locked up as the temperature came up and I went flying across the grass. I was lucky to get across and rejoin on the other side of the track. I had a big flat spot ““ and I mean seriously big. I could barely see the end of each straight with the vibrations and I genuinely didn´t know if my suspension was going to last. I was really lucky not to catch it again and either destroy the tyre or have to come in for an early stop. Luckily, I got it under control and was cruising from quite early on. It´s kinda crazy to think I now have 51 wins.

FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE L' AUTOMOBILE 2018 FIA Formula One World Championship German Grand Prix Friday Press Conference Transcript 20.07.2018 TEAM REPRESENTATIVES – Bob BELL (Renault), Andrew GREEN (Force India), Pierre WACHÉ (Red Bull Racing), Paddy LOWE, (Williams) Q: Bob, can we start with you please. Hot off the back of FP1 here at Hockenheim. New front wing, one of the things you have been trying out. How different is it and is it performing as you were expecting? Bob BELL: Yeah, it’s a reasonably different concept for the front wing. We successfully tested it OK this morning and thankfully we did it on Nico’s car, because Carlos lost track time. We still have to go through the data on it to understand what exactly it is doing. Driver feeling is positive, but we need to go to through the data to be absolutely sure it’s doing what we expected it to do, everywhere. Q: And did it survive the trip through the gravel as well? BB: Yes, it did, thankfully. Q: Just on the subject of FP1, I think there was a coolant seal issue on Carlos’ car. Are you confident he is going to be out for FP2 later. BB: yeah, to be honest we could probably could just have got him out for that bash at the end of the session, but it wasn’t worth it. It was a very minor leak but buried deep inside the car so it wasn’t quick to fix, but yeah he’ll be fine for this afternoon.

  • MP4-27 Launch Press Pack
MP4-27 TECHNICAL LAUNCH SHOWCASES STRENGTH IN DEPTH AT VODAFONE McLAREN MERCEDES Woking, UK, February 1 2012 The continuation of our double world-champion driver line-up, further consolidation of our championship-winning engineering team and a subtle, yet deep-reaching technical update of our car all underpin the world-class strength, experience and ambition that exists at Vodafone McLaren Mercedes ahead of the 2012 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. This morning’s technical presentation of the MP4-27 at the McLaren Technology Centre showcased a natural evolution of last year’s six-race-winning car and underlined the message that the new season is very much one of growth through strength and continuity. After finishing second in both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships in 2011, our aim for the new season is to fight for both world titles from the very start of this year’s campaign. Evolutionary design of MP4-27 masks overhaul of all major systems While the all-new Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-27 closely resembles last year’s multiple race-winning car, the 2012 chassis has been substantially revised from the ground-up, with all major systems updated or re-designed for the new season. The most evident visual differences include more tightly waisted rear bodywork, developed to improve flow to the rear of the car, and a revised cooling system, which re-directs the gearbox oil-cooler. Last year’s U-shaped sidepods have also been re-designed – a legacy of the FIA’s new exhaust regulations that redefine the shape of the rear bodywork.
