Community Bus. Jeff Jones, the County Councillor for Buntingford District, has asked us to remind people that there is an hourly Community Bus service to Buntingford Town Centre from the villages every Tuesday and Thursday. If this service proves successful, consideration will be given to making the service available on other days of the week. Jeff regularly attends Parish Council meetings in our district, so if you want to attend any Parish Council meetings and speak to Jeff, why not check with your Parish Council clerk and come along to a meeting? He says: - “I hope residents of Meesden and Brent Pelham have seen the BCAT bus bringing residents from the villages into Buntingford for their shopping, medical, banking and social needs. I hope the service is of use, but we would love to see more residents use the service. Use it or lose it! The service operates four times a day from Meesden on a Tuesday via Anstey and , and on a Thursday from Brent Pelham via Gt and Little Hormead and Hare Street. Pick up for both villages are outside their respective village halls although you may hail the bus anywhere along the route. We are currently buying a second bus as a back-up and to possibly offer shopping trips to main shopping destinations. Full details of the service are available on the Buntingford Town Council website at www.buntingford-tc.gov.uk/bcat or call the BCAT Hotline on 07391 994723.” Cllr Jeff Jones Hertfordshire County Councillor and BCAT Lead [email protected]

Any surplus was handed over to the food bank - sited at the Methodist Church, also in Bishop's Stortford. All goods to date have needed to be of the non perishable variety, i.e. tins, packets, etc. More recently they were a little short on 'treats' such as: speciality soups, teas, coffees, sweets, cakes etc. As we move into the New Year it might be helpful [wherever possible] to think about goods with the best nutritional or healthy option value, for example - tinned fruits in juice etc. Thank you again! There is a collection box at the back of the Brent Pelham Church — please feel free to donate, even if it is just one item. There is generally always a shortage of helpers.
