December 2013: The Tourism players in Uganda now have a reason to smile- Christmas has come early with the news on VAT drop on upcountry safari accommodation for tourist lodges and hotels outside Kampala District, as recently announced by the Uganda government.

Earlier, the Uganda government had indicated that 18% VAT charge would be levied. But this is not the case anymore.

This means that all visitors of Lake Victoria Serena Resort Spa will still pay normal rates for accommodation! The resort, which is located in Kigo District, 15 Kilometers from Kampala is now running its Christmas Season special offer.
