But at birth, if it is going to survive it must begin to breathe for itself. Prayer is the breath of the soul. A healthy Christian is always a praying Christian. If it is possible, this is doubly true for a minister. A minister who prays will reap the richest benefits, as will his or her congre gation. A minister who neglects prayer sooner or later will pay a high price. Neglecting personal prayer cannot help but result in a personal spiritual slide.
