On Wednesday, May 4, 2011 Entergy Arkansas, Inc. (EAI) filed its Application with the Arkansas Public Service Commission (APSC) for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity which, if approved, will allow it to construct a 115,000 volt electric transmission line and related switching station facilities on new and existing properties (Proposed Electrical Facilities). A new 115 kV ring-bus switching station will be constructed near each terminal end of the Proposed Transmission Line to connect the new transmission line to other existing area transmission lines.
