Installation of Mounded Storage Vessels at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited at Village-Dhansu, District ,

The Project

M/s. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has planned to install 3 mounded storage vessels within the existing LPG Plant located at Khasra Nos.- 1208/21 & 22; 1209/25; 1270/5,6,15,16 & 20; 1271/1,2,9,10,11 & 12; 1284/5, 20 of Village Dhansu, District Hisar in Haryana State.

The existing LPG plant is engaged in receipt, storage of LPG in above ground bullets and bottling of LPG in domestic and commercial cylinders for its distribution consumers in the region.

Project Location

The existing LPG Plant is located on survey Khasra Nos 1208/21 & 22; 1209/25; 1270/5, 6, 15, 16 & 20; 1271/1, 2, 9, 10, 11 & 12; 1284/5, 20 of Village Dhansu, - Haryana. The latitude and longitude of the site is 29°11'25.71"N and 75°44'59.29"E respectively. The plant is located on the 14.925 Acres of land. The land is barren, non productive and for industrial use.

Process Description

LPG bottling plant is a plant where LPG is filled into bottles (cylinders) for storage and distribution among various LPG distributors. The plant has the facility to receive bulk LPG by Tank from a reliable source e.g. Refinery or any other LPG Bottling Plant. After receipt of Bulk LPG, filling of LPG into cylinders is done and after proper checking of valve of cylinders, compaction of gas and weight cylinders are distributed to identified distributers.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Hisar LPG Bottling Plant store liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) received through bullet trucks & stored in Above Ground LPG bullets of capacity 4 x 125 MTs & 1 x 60 (total 560 MTs) from various locations- Dahej, Gujrat, Jamnagar, Piyala, Bhatinda and . LPG will be pumped from storage bullets to filling shed where cylinders will be filled prior to dispatch by road.

The current proposal has been submitted for issuance of Environmental Clearance for the proposed LPG Bulk Mounded Storage Bullets (3 x 300 MTs). The proposed LPG mounded bullet will be integrated with the existing storage operations and will in no way alter the current activities of the LPG plant. The LPG cylinders of various capacities i.e. 14.2kg (domestic purpose), 19kg (commercial purpose), 35kg & 47.5kg (industrial purpose) are bottled at the existing plant and then finally dispatched for consumers.

Environmental Sensitivity

There are no ecologically sensitive areas such as Wild Life and National Parks, Reserve or Protected Forests in the study area. No other defense or protected land in the study area.
