CinEast opens submissions for its 10th edition
CinEast, the Central and Eastern European Film Festival Luxembourg (www.cineast.lu), has opened the call for entries for its 10th edition, which will be held from 5 to 22 October 2017 in Luxembourg city and other towns.
The CinEast festival welcomes features as well as short films (fiction, documentary and animated) made by directors from the following countries only: Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine. Exceptionally, other films having a strong connection to the mentioned countries can be considered. The films can only be submitted via the FilmFestivalLife platform.
The submission deadline is 30 June 2017.

About CinEast
The CinEast festival aims to promote the cinema of Central and Eastern European countries of the former communist bloc. The Festival, held annually in Luxembourg, has existed since 2008 and the upcoming 10th edition will take place between 5 and 22 October 2017. The Festival offers a wide selection of feature, documentary and short films (fiction, animated and documentary) as well as a rich programme of accompanying events, including concerts, exhibitions, debates, culinary evenings etc. Selected feature films are included in the Official competition to compete for the Grand Prix and the Special Jury Prize awarded by an international jury, as well as the Critics’ Prize awarded by a separate press jury. Short films compete for Audience Awards in the three categories. In 2016, the CinEast festival presented over 60 feature and 40 short films, welcoming 25 special guests and attracted over 10400 spectators. The Grand Prix awarded by the international jury presided over by Mirjana Karanović went to the film Mellow Mud by Renars Vimba.
