There will normally be just two auctions in the year - March and October. The CMS reserves the right to refuse items which are damaged etc., or we have doubts about authenticity. Reserves can be placed on lots but must be agreed with the CMS. They should reflect realistic values/expectations and not be the “highest price” expected. The CMS will take 7% of the price realised, the vendor 93% which will normally be paid 6 weeks after the auction. The CMS will undertake to advertise the memorabilia to all its members (including overseas) and only CMS members are eligible to bid for items. Members are welcome to send postal bids which should be in writing/e-mail before the auction. Bids will normally start at 60% of the bid unless there is a higher reserve price or other postal bids. Items will be sent to successful postal bidders the week after the auction and will usually be sent by recorded delivery. Postage will be paid by the successful postal bidder. The CMS will be responsible for the items sent for auction while they are in the possession of the CMS. The CMS welcomes items of particular and unusual interest for the auctions. Non-members can send items for auction but we would discourage large quantities of books, magazines etc. A list of prices realised at an auction will be included with the next magazine due for publication after the auction.

If there is an error in this publication, please bring it to our attention so we can update the club’s history. If you are one of the captains listed or played a part in one of the teams and think you can write a report, feel free to write something up and send it to me for inclusion. Also, if you have any photos forward them to me at [email protected] I hope you enjoy the 1985/86 year book. Regards Tristram Fletcher President – Applecross CC (2018) Cover Photograph: 2nd XI leading wicket taker Alex Weir 2 PRESIDENTS REPORT WAYNE RIDEOUT Another mediocre season, no team making the finals and the club's playing strength becoming very thin, with a particular impact on the seventh grade team. Since Chas Eadon-Clarke in the first 2 seasons, no President had been in power for more than 1 season. This was again the case in 1985/86, Wayne Rideout being elected President. Andy Randles was again Secretary and a junior from the previous season, Steve Putz, was Treasurer. Third grade captain was Tom Morgan, Rod Hays was fifth grade captain and seventh grade captain was Russell Kingdon. The club lost the services of Garry Gregan during the season and his ability with bat and ball and his administration skills were missed. Some of the well known names to debut for the club this season were Tim "Bucket Head" Downey, Pat O'Dwyer, Brad Douglas, Terry Clarke, Gary "Hack" Leask and Trevor Goddard.
