• Reduces rather than accommodates freeway traffic. • Increases capacity for trucks by attracting commuters to transit. • Reduces rather than increases Greenhouse Gas emissions. • Improved transit reduces traffic on ramps and local streets. • Avoids demolition of five structurally sound freeway overpasses. • Preserves historic Flint Ave for bikes and emergency vehicles. • Avoids years of disruption to local neighborhoods, business’s, public transit and general circulation due to demolition and reconstruction of valuable infrastructure. • Avoids construction of wide radius and unsafe street crossings. • Allows construction of a Clackamas Bike Bridge if needed. • Provides a north-south bike express route through inner eastside. • Provides light rail and local road access to Hayden Island. • Would cost less than the I-5 Rose Quarter Project.
