CLASSROOM KŌRERO Junior Room / Tauira nohinohi The junior class is buzzing away beautifully. There is a wonderful range of new entrants (7 in total) and older year 2 and 3 students. There are wonderful supportive relationships being built in the class. The highlight of this term so far for the A stream full of trout tamariki was the middle and junior class trip to The Tongariro Trout Centre and the Turtle Aquatic Centre, in . It was a great day, jam packed with information, fun and activities. The students were a delight and excellently behaved (we received great feedback from our Trout Centre educators). The perfect day was topped off with an ice cream at the playground. A huge thank you to our amazing whanau that assisted on the day Trout spotting and our fabulous PTA who paid for the entire trip! The students have produced some excellent writing and some beautiful artwork too. We drew trout with pencil and then coloured them with pastel. One of our focuses was to blend pastel colours together to represent the smoothness of fish scales. We finished these pictures off with blue dye, representing water. Nga mihi, Jessie Smith

WORKING BEE THREE- The final tidy-up Saturday 13th March We have scheduled one final scooter track working bee to remove the boxing from around the concrete, reinstate the dirt around the track and plant grass seed. This will start at 9:00am this Saturday. Here is a chance for those people who were not able to participate with the previous working bees to help. With enough people this should be completed by lunchtime. Please bring tools suitable for removing the More high ropes - Grace Van Ordern boxing, de-nailing the timber and moving dirt back along the edges of the track: spades, shovels, hammers, nail-pullers, crowbars etc. PARKING SAFETY Please do not park on the opposite side of the road when dropping or picking kids up. There is a risk that they will get run over as they cross the road, which can be very busy at these peak times. There is plenty of space on the school side of the road for all cars - it doesn’t hurt the kids to have to walk down the street to reach your car.
