The Crèdit Andorrà Group expands internationally through the insurance holding ERM
ERM is currently present in five Spanish provinces
Andorra La Vella, October 2009. The Crèdit Andorrà Group is continuing its international expansion, specifically in Spain, through the expansion of its insurance area. The holding company ERM, in which the Crèdit Andorrà Group has a stake, has opened three new delegations in Tarragona, Palma de Majorca and Seville.
ERM has been part of the Crèdit Andorrà Group since 2008, when the entity acquired 76% of its shares. Today it has a wide commercial network distributed among the Spanish cities of Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona, Palma de Majorca and Seville.
The insurance holding company ERM is dedicated to complete risk management, mainly in the Spanish insurance market. Its activity can be defined as the identification, assessment and treatment of risks with the aim of suitably protecting and preserving companies’ assets in the face of possible contingencies.
The holding company ERM
Within the insurance holding company there is ERM Consultoria, specializing in risk management, actuarial assessment and welfare coverage, and ERM Corredoria d’assegurances, specializing in assessing and designing insurance programs. Each one of these companies and the holding company in general are deeply rooted in the Spanish insurance sector and enjoy great prestige among their individual clients and Spanish companies. The quality of service provided, the wide range of products and the different instruments for transferring risk that they put at the client’s disposal have enabled them to support companies, assessing them throughout the entire procedure from analyzing their subsidiaries’ risks to insuring these risks.
Crèdit Andorrà’s insurance Group
Crèdit Andorrà’s insurance group began in 1995 with the creation of Crèdit Assegurances, a leading company on the Andorran insurance market.
The group currently has a team of over 50 professionals with an extensive track record and it is structured in the following companies: Crèdit Assegurances, the head of the insurance group, which provides life insurance in the national sphere; Vincles, geared towards actuarial assessment, which also operates
1 within the Andorran market, and lastly the holding company ERM, which offers complete risk management on the Spanish market. In addition, the group is also present with shares in Financera d’Assegurances, a company specializing in the automobile sector, multi-risks in the home, trade and legal liability.
Crèdit Andorrà Group’s international presence
Crèdit Andorrà is an Andorran bank with an international leaning. The group is currently present:
o since 2003, in Switzerland, through Private Investment Management, an asset management company; o since 2004, in Luxembourg, through the collective investment company Crediinvest Sicav, and since 2008 with a new company, Investcredit Sicav; o since 2007, in Spain with the fund management company Valira Capital Asset Management; o in 2008, significant steps were taken in the expansion plans, and they are present in: th o Panama, with the launching on 17 November 2008 of Banco Crèdit Andorrà (Panama) to provide clients with financial services and global assessment, and on 23rd July 2009 of Crèdit Andorrà Panamà Securities, a subsidiary dedicated to brokerage and financial assessment; th o Uruguay, with the creation on 18 December 2008 of a representation office for Crèdit Andorrà in Montevideo, whose purpose is to spread awareness of our entity and promote it in the Southern Cone; and o Spain, in the insurance sphere, with a majority stake of 76% in the holding company ERM, consultancy and insurance brokerage.
