Sheikhupura lies 31°42'51.16" North latitude and 73°59'3.49" East longitude. 05% of total population District Sheikhupura is an area vulnerable to main menace of Risk: Medium intensive rain & flooded water bodies. Floods normally hit the district during the monsoon season starting from early June to late August XX while overflow of river Ravi has been historically the principal cause of Estimated number of people at flood in this district. The plan identifies the risk environment for the district Sheikhupura and outlines the key institutional and programing components relative to effective risk management and emergency response and recovery. The plan is dynamic document which may be extended in the future to incorporate any additional risk treatment options as they are identified through formal risk analysis. 3 District (Sheikhupura) DDMP 2020 AIM AND OBJECTIVES The plan is aimed to manage emergencies by putting in place requisite mitigation measures and a well- coordinated and integrated response at district level. The main objectives of the plan include: To develop a plan of action for the District Disaster Management Authority and other district stakeholders to set priorities and provide directions for disaster management; To define the roles of various stakeholders in disaster management in all the phases pre, during and after disaster; To raise awareness of stakeholders about disaster risks and the requirements for disaster management; To introduce coordination mechanism for immediate response and rehabilitation at district level; To enhance the effectiveness and timeliness of emergency response through the clarification of goals, strategies, roles and responsibilities; To strengthen response coordination between government departments and humanitarian organizations(UN agencies, I/NGOs); 4 District (Sheikhupura) DDMP 2020 DISTRICT PROFILE Socio-Economic Indicators (Average) S.No. Particulars Numbers 1.
