ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR Winner of numerous awards in professional Ballroom and Latin dance competitions, Elena leads Ballroom, Latin and classes year-round. She is an accomplished instructor with teaching experience of over 20 years in Europe and North America. Elena was a professional competitive dancer for many years, having performed, taught, choreographed, organized, promoted and hosted numerous parties, theater productions and dance functions. She has been frequently featured in local and national radio, newspapers and the television, including a special documentary film about her From Far and Wide; she has collaborated with the Detroit Opera House, Canadian Symphony Orchestra, and the Capitol Theatre as a choreographer, artist and performer. For the last few years she has taught and choreographed, consulted and adjudicated for the popular show Dancing with the Stars. Elena teaches master classes and workshops for all levels of Ballroom, Latin and Social dancers and choreographs and coaches them for weddings, parties, performances and competitions. In addition, she also teaches for CEPD at Schoolcraft College, including her virtual “Dance Yourself Fit” class. This spring, she will be teaching additional virtual dance classes, including “Latin American Dancing” and “Ballroom Dancing.” As an accomplished instructor and performer, Elena has inspired thousands of students around the Elena Semenov world to embrace the art of Ballroom and Latin Dance.
