Australian U17 Men’s Team for FIBA Championships Job Description – Assistant Coach

Term of appointment

The term of appointment will be from April 25 to July 30 and will include attendance at the FIBA Oceania Under 17 Championships (athlete born 2000 & 2001). This tournament is phase one in qualification for the 2019 FIBA World Championship for Under 19 Men.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Assistant Coach of the Australian U17 Men’s Team will be responsible for:

 Assisting the Head Coach in selection of the athletes to be included in the U17 Women’s team for the 2017 FIBA Oceania Under 17 Championships to be held in Hagatna, , July 9 - 16  Assisting in the technical preparation and planning for the team  Assisting the Head Coach during games;  Ability to utilise video analysis equipment and prepare scouting material as required by the Head Coach;  All other areas which are seen by the Head Coach to be relevant to the team’s performance at International competition  Liaise, where appropriate and under the direction of the Head Coach, with the club coaches and other officials of the teams of the athletes selected for the program;  Representing the team with media as required. The assistant coach will work at the direction of the U17 Men’s Head Coach.

Remuneration

This is a voluntary role. will pay all reasonable expenses incurred when the Assistant Coach is involved with approved team activities. This includes documented phone calls, travel and accommodation expenses.

If the Assistant Coach is injured when involved in national team activities, such injury will be covered under BA’s sports injury insurance policy.
