Dear Gala Attendees & Friends,

On behalf of Kids On The Go, thank you very much for joining us for our BandstandInsert Kristy'sBattle Gala.letter Whether you have participated throughout the week for the music competition or are tuning in for the festivities on the evening of the event, we are very grateful for your participation!

To say 2020 has been a “challenge” would be an understatement. Kids On The Go, like many nonprofits struggled with how to safely and successfully run our programs, how to engage the children we serve despite the restrictions of a social distanced or virtual format and of course, how to maintain our organization while feeling the financial effects of the pandemic.

While these struggles seemed overwhelming, our attitude at Kids On The Go has been to focus on the “constant”, that being the needs of the children we serve. We take this as our driving motivator and benchmark of success. While the world has changed, the needs of a child with special needs have not. In many cases, due to school closures, there is a greater sense of urgency with regard to offering programs that provide socialization, therapy services and structure. At Kids On The Go, we are grateful to have adjusted so we can continue to support children and their families during a time where this need is so critical.

While this year’s Gala looks much different than previous years, we invite you to join us with our attitude of “focusing on the constant” as we compare this Gala to ones in the past. • First, like previous events, Bandstand Battle Gala will be entertaining and fun. We are glad to have you a part of it! • Second, this will be a night to celebrate all the wonderful programs at Kids On The Go and showcase many of the children and families we are lucky to work with. • Last, the funds raised through this event are essential for Kids On The Go to continue to grow and make a difference in the lives of children with special needs. Now more than ever, your generosity will be impacted by children who depend on Kids On The Go for support, structure and programs that will help them reach their goals.

With sincere gratitude, thank you very much for being a part of the Bandstand Battle. However you are a part of it, we hope you have a wonderful time!

10 Events Manager Danielle Brousseau Good evening,

Over the past five years of collaboration with Kids On The Go, I have been in awe of the generosity of those who offer support andInsert the dedicationKristy's letter of the staff and volunteers. This year, by taking a more active role in the year-round operations, I was afforded a more in-depth view of the programming and its impact on the children and their families.

As the world took an unpredicted turn this year, Kids On The Go responded without pause. Recognizing the need was more than ever, the therapeutic and administrative teams under the leadership of Kristy responded quickly to introduce new opportunities and adapt the existing programming to provide a successful, fun, and safe year of camps. Being able to witness this transformation and the commitment to the children of the KOTG family was inspiring.

Staying true to what Kids On The Go is capable of, the challenge of bringing the biennial Gala to life was met with similar enthusiasm. The Bandstand Battle Gala is the result. Tonight’s event brings the imaginative, entertaining spirit of the usual gala with the extra musical element for all to enjoy. Most importantly, it allows us all to gather, albeit virtually, in celebration and support of the kids of Kids On The Go. The many accomplishments of this organization and its impact on so many children is possible because of your generosity. So, I thank you for joining us tonight and for your support of Kids On The Go throughout the year. I wish you luck in your bidding and for you to enjoy the talents of our Bandstand performers—let the “battle” begin!

RussellThis yearAgosta we are introducing the Russell Agosta Volunteer Service Award which will be presented at our Gala to an individual who demonstrates commitment and inspires others to engage in volunteer service. Russ recalls his volunteering began at DeLaSalle Collegiate and in the 1980s Russ began to use some of his CPA skills as a volunteer. He joined the Parish Council at Our Lady of Good Council in Detroit. Shortly thereafter he joined The International Order of the Alhambra. Its focus was helping children with mental and physical challenges and providing scholarships for teachers focusing their careers on Special Education. Not only did he contribute his time by standing outside churches on the week-ends with his cannister, collecting funds, he realized that he could do / should do more. By volunteering to be on the governing board, he could help maximize the group’s efforts. With better planning and organization, more could be accomplished.

Through his career activities, he served on many committees and on construction association boards. As he neared retirement, his focus shifted. He started to work with other charities and Catholic organizations focusing on Board and Committee work, where his talents & experiences would be most impactful. He has gone on to provide his volunteer services, working with the following at various levels. • DeLaSalle Collegiate High School, Warren, MI • Vista Maria, Dearborn Heights, MI • AGC Education and Research Foundation, Washington, DC • Round Rock Christian Academy, Round Rock, Tx • Detroit Cristo Rey High School, Detroit, MI • Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation • Henry Ford Macomb Hospital • Legatus – Detroit Northeast Chapter • The Inn at St John’s • PIME (Pontifical Institute for Missionaries) • And of course, Kids On The Go-where Russ served on the Advisory Board and treasurer for the Board of Directors.

Russ- you inspire us and congratulations on this award being named in your honor!

And he was partial to charities where you could actually see the value of your donations. Having learned from this, it has been my pleasure to serve and donate to Kids On The Go. "Growing up in the Midwest, I know the people here are hardworking, faithful, and second to none. We love it here!"

You can see Brandon deliver the weather story on Local 4 News Today from 4:30-7:00 am and on Local 4 News at Noon. Brandon is recognized with the Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. He has received several awards for weather coverage, including the Associated Press Award for Outstanding Weather Operation and Best Weather Continuing Coverage.

33 34 This past year, as schools and school sponsored programs were shut down, we recognizedDedicated the level of dependency that many Giving families have on programs and resources provided through Kids On The Go. This is often because of the relationships that we have with many families who have a child that joined our program at a young age and has progressed through our programs as that child has grown. As we look to the future and our commitment to continue to serve as an important resource for children with special needs and their families, funding for three of our core programs that follow a child from the age of three through their teen years is essential to their progression. Consequently, we ask for you to consider supporting these core programs that allow for each child's growth; MultidisciplinaryInsert Kristy's Camp, letter Social Skills and Teens to Work, as the recipients of this year’s dedicated giving.
