ENCORE VOCAL PROGRAMME 3rd – 6th CLASS Keep n Singing o For now, schools out and for many of you, this will be the very last “Keep on Singing” handout of the term! We hope you have enjoyed exploring the singing learning resources and activities we shared with you over the last four months for you to use at home during what has been a difficult and unusual time and that you had as much fun with them as we had making them. As always, we would love to hear from you about what you have enjoyed and what you have been doing musically while you are at home. In Week 4 – the team introduced you to the Axis of awesome discovery of the wonders of the four chord progression of I V VI IV and that lots of pop songs use this same chord progression. https://youtu.be/oOlDewpCfZQ Now that you have more time over the summer holidays – why not dig into this as a summer project and contribute a VIRTUAL VIDEO RECORDING of YOU! singing pieces of the songs in the GAPS provided for you in this video clip: MASH IT UP YOUR TURN: https://youtu.be/c6Mgylimiz8 STEP - BY - STEP INSTRUCTIONS Familiarize yourself with the songs and lyrics by listening to the MGC team’s “Mash It Up” video https://youtu.be/bZDQbv-_4BU PRACTICE singing the snippets a few times over and over with the performance video Now load up the “MASH IT UP – YOUR TURN” video https://youtu.be/c6Mgylimiz8 There are 12 songs in the Mash Up set but SLOTS 4, 5, 9, & 11: have been left OPEN/BLANK for you to contribute your rendition of these songs: The titles will come up on the screen for you:- 1. Slot 4 – “Can you feel the Love Tonight” 2. Slot 5 – “Dancing Queen” 3. Slot 9 – “Waka Waka” 4. Slot 11 – “Livin’ on a Prayer” When you are ready to have a go at your video recording here’s what you will need to do it – take a look at this Instructional Video to help you: https://youtu.be/WRoNa0FXPdU This is the hardware you will need:- 1. A PLAYBACK DEVICE: A phone/ipad or desktop to play the video track 2. A RECORDING DEVICE : can phone, ipad or video camera 3. A set of earphones PROCESS 1. Load up the “MASH IT UP YOUR TURN: https://youtu.be/c6Mgylimiz8 on your chosen PLAYBACK DEVICE, connected to EARPHONES. Check that you can actually hear the track in your earpiece and that you can see the video playing. 2. Set up your RECORDING DEVICE ready to record in a suitable place, either on a stand or alternatively taped to a TV or like me (my old lamp!) or anything else handy that will act as a support, where your face/and or upper body are clearly visible 3. Select video recording on your recording device 4. Press RECORD on your chosen device (making sure we can see you also) 5. PRESS THE PLAY BUTTON of the Mash It Up Your Turn link on your playback device 6. You are NOW RECORDING ….. listen through the entire Mash It Up track and SING INTO THE 4 GAPS ONLY 7. Save your recording and forward it to us here at [email protected] 8. We will edit in your voice recording into the Mash It Up Video and share it with you as soon as is practical in September.
