Cricket Tasmania Position Description Position: Manager – Venue Operations Department: Venue Operations Manager: General Manager – Venue Operations Direct Reports: Venue & Events Officer Role Purpose: To manage and coordinate all events held at the venue, manage tenants of the venue and ensure that all relevant venue compliance is in place. Assist the General Manager – Venue Operations to provide leadership to the Venue Operations Group. Document Date: December 2018 Cricket Tasmania’s Strategic Link(s) to This Position ▪ Innovative solutions to maximise long-term sustainable revenue to drive investment in the game ▪ Using technology to deliver great experiences for fans, participants and volunteers Key Responsibilities Event Operations ▪ Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to oversee the management of local, interstate and international events held at the venue. ▪ Ensure all events held are conducted in an organized, efficient and professional manner, including contractor management. ▪ Assist in the delivery of events away from the venue. ▪ Manage the Bellerive Oval Transport Plan. ▪ Build and leverage stakeholder relationships to achieve business objectives Facility Operations ▪ Efficient and cost effective management of labor, materials and products. ▪ Continually seek improvements and innovations to find efficiencies, and to increase the level of service and profitability for all facets of the facility. ▪ Manage the venue tenant sub-leases and relationships. ▪ Working with Corporate Services to ensure that Blundstone Arena, Bellerive manages its resources to maximise effectiveness within defined budget parameters. ▪ Ensure Cricket Tasmania is abiding by and has in place all relevant certificates and registrations that are legally required for venue compliance Leadership ▪ Provide leadership and direction for the venue operations team, aligned to the venue operations strategy. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Page 1 of 4 ▪ Identify, develop and assist in the delivery of project work for venue operations to the benefit of Cricket Tasmania and Tasmanian Cricket. ▪ Identify training needs for the department as well as development opportunities for team members. Business Management ▪ Assist in the management of Workpace Health and Safety at Blundstone Arena – Bellerive, by identifying, assessing and reducing risk as far as practical, ensuring all legislative requirements are met ▪ Contribute to the leadership and strategic direction of the Venue Operations team ▪ Assist in the preparation of the Venue Operations budget each financial year and take an active role in month end finance processes ▪ Act as a member of appropriate sub-committees and working groups to assist CT in achieving key business outcomes Other ▪ Manage tenders and regular audits of sub-contractor services when required as well as identification of new opportunities. ▪ Project work as instructed by General Manager – Venue Operations. ▪ Be the point of contact for the Council and Resident representative for the Facility. Key Position Requirements Essential ▪ Effective prioritisation & time management skills ▪ Proven negotiation skills to effectively deal with a variety of stakeholders ▪ Event management experience and customer service skills ▪ Experience managing budget process for a business area ▪ Staff and contractor management 3 ▪ Experience in WH&S ▪ Exceptional attention to detail Desired Skills and Attributes ▪ Experience working in a high profile venue with in-depth facility management knowledge ▪ Project Management ▪ Tennant management Qualifications (if required) ▪ Relevant Business, Project Management or Facility associated degree.
