Ridgefield Park, N.J. 2020-21 MARQUETTE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL GAME NOTES Head Coach megan duffy Second Year | Dayton, Ohio | Notre Dame ‘06 The 2020-21 campaign will mark the second as head coach at Marquette University for Megan Duffy, who was named BIG EAST Coach of the Year after an outstanding debut season with the Golden Eagles in 2019-20.

Duffy made an immediate impact on the program, directing a team selected to finish ninth in the preseason poll to a second-place effort in the BIG EAST and an appear- ance in the league tournament championship game. The roster featured a pair of all-league performers in Selena Lott and Camryn Taylor and the program was poised for participation in the NCAA tournament.

The 2019-20 season was highlighted by a win over nationally ranked DePaul and the team ranked among the nation’s best at both ends of the court. Offensively, MU finished 16th in the country and first in the BIG EAST in field goal percentage (.454), eighth in assisted field goals and 10th in assists per game (18.1). Defensively, MU held opponents to just 61.0 points per game and 37.5 percent from the floor, both the sec- ond-best marks in the league, while topping the conference in blocked shots (4.2 bpg.).

Marquette also established itself as one of the nation’s top rebounding teams under Duffy, concluding the year ranked fourth in the nation in rebound margin (10.7), first in the BIG EAST in offensive rebounds (13.3 orpg.) and second in total boards (40.6 rpg.).

Duffy was named the sixth head coach in Marquette women’s basketball history on April 10, 2019.

The Dayton, Ohio, native has translated her extensive playing career, which included All-America selec- tions (finalist for national player of the year awards), USA Basketball participation (Gold medalist) and Coach Duffy led Marquette to a 24-8 (13-5 BIG EAST) professional experience in the WNBA (Minnesota and New York) and overseas, into immediate success in season in her first year at Marquette in 2019-20. Duffy was a four-year letterwinner at Notre Dame (2002-06), helping the Irish to four-straight NCAA appear- ances and two Sweet 16 berths. She is one of four players in school history to total at least 1,000 points, 500 assists and 200 steals. She was an Associated Press and Kodak All-America honorable mention in 2005 and 2006, while being a finalist for both the John Wooden Award and Nancy Lieberman Award in her final season.

She also helped Team USA to the gold medal at the 2005 World University Games. After her career at Notre Dame, she was the 31st pick in the 2006 WNBA draft and played three seasons with the Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty. Duffy also played overseas with teams in Romania, Slovakia, Italy and Wales.

• Entering her second season as an assistant coach at Marquette. • Serves as recruiting coordinator for the Golden Eagles and excels in post player development. • In her first season at MU, Raterman helped Camryn Taylor earn a spot on the BIG EAST All-Freshman team after averaging 9.6 points per game in conference play, which was fourth in scoring among the league’s freshmen. • Under Rateman’s watch, the Golden Eagles led the BIG EAST in rebounding, grabbing 40.6 boards per night. They alsoplayed stingy defense, allowing just 60.9 points per game from opponents. • Before coming to MU, Raterman served as an assistant for the Miami Redhawks in the 2018-2019 campaign. • A former standout player at Dayton, Raterman graduated in 2012 after leading Dayton to three NCAA Tournament berths and one WNIT appearance. She is the Flyers’ second all-time leading scorer and all-time leading rebounder of the modern era with 1,832 points and 915 rebounds.

• Entering her first season as an assistant coach at Marquette. • Greene plays an instrumental role in guard development, recruiting, and scheduling for the Golden Eagles. • Regarded by his peers as one of the top assistants in the country, owns more than 20 years of collegiate coaching experience. His career includes stops at Langston University (1994-08), Grambling State (2008-12), Texas Southern (2013-15), Toledo (2016-18) and Ole Miss (2018-20). • During his career he has helped programs to postseason play on 11 occasions, including multiple trips to the NCAA tournament and WNIT. • Under his tutelage, more than 30 players have earned all-conference accolades, including six All-America honorees, five conference players of the year, as well as multiple Academic All-Americans. • A proven recruiter, Greene led the way in helping MU land top-60 high 2021 high school prospect Kendra Gillispie this fall. He also helped land a pair of five star prospects during his tenure at Ole Miss (2018-20).

• Entering her first season as an assistant coach at Marquette. • She will be responsible for guard development, recruiting and serving as the liaison with strength and conditioning and sport medicine. • Coleman brings an abundance of experience to Marquette, including a long tenure at Penn State and a stint as the head coach of Clemson from 2010-13. • During Coleman’s stint as a recruiting coordinator, she guided the signing of four top-25 classes, including three while at Penn State. • Along with a heralded coaching career, Coleman also found success as a player. She was a three-time All- ACC performer, earned AP All-America honorable-mention accolades, defensive All-America honors, and was crowned the 1999 ACC Tournament MVP after leading the Tigers to the tournament title. • Coleman enjoyed a long professional career and played in the WNBA for the Indiana Fever and the Houston Comets. She was a member of the Nigerian National Team in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.

• Veronica Mullen is in her second season as the director of basketball operations in 2020-21. • She will manage the budget, team travel, youth camps, game day set-up, player housing, as well as facilitate relationships around marketing and ticketing. • Mullen joined head coach Megan Duffy from Miami, where she held the same role for two seasons with the Redhawks. A vital member of Duffy’s staff, Mullen will use her veteran leadership to help oversee the program specialist and video coordinator positions. • While at Miami, Mullen was part of a staff that produced two consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time since the 1980’s and earned two WNIT berths, while reaching the MAC Tournament semifinals in both years that Duffy served as head coach. • A former player under Kim Barnes Arico at Adelphi University, Mullen was a two-year starter at guard for the Panthers from 2000-02. She was named the team’s MVP as a junior after averaging 13.8 points per game.

NO FANS AT HOME GAMES IN 2020 • Marquette Athletics has announced that through at least the end of 2020, no spectators will be allowed at men’s and women’s basketball home games due to safety and health concerns as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. • Season ticket members for both programs will receive further information from the ticket office on donation and refund options. The department will continue to evaluate spectator options as the season progresses and if ticket opportunities become available, they will be sold on a single-game basis. • We will continue to evaluate our options and be in touch with any individual game ticket opportunities in the new year if circumstances allow,” Vice President and Director of Athletics Bill Scholl said.

WHAT’S ON TAP? • The home opener against Milwaukee begins a three-game homestand for the Golden Eagles. MU will stay home to host Providence to begin BIG EAST play on Friday, Dec. 4. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CT on the BIG EAST Digital Network. • The Golden Eagles will then have a week between games and will complete non-conference play with games against Prairie View A&M (Dec. 11) and Belmont (Dec. 13).
